Right now, I'm really into Electric Wizard and The Sword.
I love the ultra heavy guitar riffs.
What does everyone else like? |

The only doom band I really like is Reverend Bizarre. Sir Albert is a beast, love his vocals. He's got a great voice for depressing music. _________________ NU-MOD |

Doom Metal has slowly become one of my favorite genres. Though I usually prefer Death/Doom and Gothic/Doom Hybrids like (early) Theatre of Tragedy, (early) Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Virgin Black, Draconian, The Sins of Thy Beloved. |

Same here.
I've gotten really into doom in in the last couple of weeks.
I prefer the more epic sounding bands with (mostly) clean vocal.
Like Lamented Souls and Solitude Aeturnus. _________________ The ravening black worms of madness are devouring the shredded remnants of sanity as I return to my slumbering steel-clad body...but as the dream-veil lifts, I feel my limbs transform, flesh becoming cold stone...

I understand completely.
Sorry if I phrased the topic incorrectly. _________________ The ravening black worms of madness are devouring the shredded remnants of sanity as I return to my slumbering steel-clad body...but as the dream-veil lifts, I feel my limbs transform, flesh becoming cold stone...

That. Death / Doom is my second favourite Metal genre (Black Metal is the 1st). I really love bands like On Thorns I Lay (early albums), Adagio (the Brazilian one), Pyogenesis (early albums) and Crematory (early albums). Actually, I like most Death / Doom bands. There's only one Death / Doom band I do not like a lot and that's Supuration. They're too weird for me.
Except from Death / Doom I also like a lot of Epic Doom bands like Passage and Scald (especially, Scald). |

I'll have to check out some of those bands sometime. I'm actually getting pretty interested in the genre. Though I've always been "interested" in it. It just took some time before it really started to grow on me. |

I really enjoy Doom Metal.I like some old Doom like Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Pentagram, and Saint Vitus, but I realy like the Death/Doom and Funeral Doom scene. My Dying Bride, Winter and Evoken are my favorites. _________________ When night falls, she cloaks the world

Stoner doom and stoner metal like Kyuss, Sleep, and Electric Wizard are my favorites. It might be because I'm a bassist, and the bass in stoner metal is clearly audible and often very interesting (a complaint I have is that a lot of metal ignores the bass in the production). The vocals are also in many cases enthralling with the distortion effects they use. It's also nice for me that the singers are lower range, as I can sing along, being a lower singer myself. And besides, who can deny the awesomeness of Dragonaut, Vinum Sabbathi, Funeralopolis, or Green Machine? _________________ Everything here is so cold

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm a bass player my self, and Stoner Metal has some of the best bass in Heavy Metal. My only problem with it is the dumb lyrics of bands like Bongzilla. _________________ When night falls, she cloaks the world

I'm getting into a lot of more traditional-styled doom metal, like Reverend Bizarre and Warning (UK). Great, great stuff. I forsee it becoming my 4th favourite metal subgenre. I still can't get into doom/death or any other doom variation though. _________________ NU-MOD |
