He was the first band that I ever listened to.
Also got me into metal.
My favroite of his albums was Mechanical Animals.

Marilyn Manson isn't Gothic Rock. He's Industrial Rock. I'm moving this to the Industrial section. Mechanical Animals is an awesome album by the way. |

I like Manson, not as much as I used to.
But hes definitely not goth hes industrial metal
His first cd Portrait of An American Family is great, like the song Lunchbox and Get your Gunn.
But Eat Me, Drink Me was pretty disappointing |

I needs to download moar Marilyn Manson.
Anyway, have you guys checked out his artwork? He did an AMAZING painting of Edgar Allan Poe... it was magnificent. He's really good with water colours.

I love Manson. at least I used to. But he isn't industrial metal. Just shock rock (but we haven't such a category). I prefer first three albums. Smells like children is also OK, I like the covers on it. |

Shock rock isn't an actual term that describes sound, but rather the element of visual aesthetics. Heck, even non-rock artists can be called shock rock. At one point, artists like Elvis would've been considered shock rock at the time since his dance moves were much more sexual than the usual "stand-and-sway" of stuff like soul music or the kind of music that was popular back in that time. Thus, "shock rock" is not a proper term to describe sound. Manson's actual genre is industrial rock, and he is by no means a metal artist.

Anyone hear about the new album? It's supposedly going back to MM's Antichrist Superstar roots. For Twiggy fans - Twiggy is making a mark of his return on this album (he re-joined the band in January). Read more here.
