While gothabilly is not strictly speaking deathrock, it still is musically related, so Iīm posting this here anyway. Are there any other fans of gothabilly here? |

I don't think I've listened to any Gothabilly. Any recommendations? |

I'll put the tag in on last fm and see what I think of the bands that play. |

Good idea. =) I think you might like it, if you donīt happen to be strongly against Elvis and rockabilly. |

I actually think I'm starting to like gothabilly a lot. I probably just have to find the right bands. So far I like some of what I've heard on last fm radio. |

Hey, thatīs great! =) It really -is- fun music. What I like about it is the energy - you really must have an insane stamina to perform this sort of thing, it seems. Rhythmical insanity... |

Care to post a source to where you read that The Cramps invented the term?
Most of these bands are just plain old rockabilly/psychobilly, too, not this "gothabilly" term. At least, I've never heard them described as that. The "-billy" suffix is plastered onto a lot of things though. |

Well, thereīs a bit of a crossover, really. As for my source, I once wrote an exam paper on gothic music when I studied music, and obtained a copy of some article or another from an old magazine. I left that stuff at my momīs when I moved out, though, so I canīt quote you the exact magazine and date, sorry. I know I also used scathe.co.uk a lot during writing that paper, but if itīs on there, I have no idea. |

Yeah, I've always heard that The Cramps want nothing to do with the genre of psychobilly - that was just a term on their concert advertisements for shock value. Of course I could be wrong. |
