The election is heating up as November rapidly approaches. Obama or McCain... who will it be?
Please use this thread for all discussion of the 2008 election. Discuss your opinions, the candidates' standpoints, debate videos, etc. Avoid saying crap like "Obama smoked pot, so I'm voting for him," unless you can say it in a way that will be more productive.
To start, I personally would like Obama to win. It would truly show what America is meant to be- a land of equal opportunity. He also wants the U.S. out of Iraq, ASAP. Sounds good to me! _________________ Everything here is so cold

I can't say I'm too hot on either candidate really. It's not about whether I like them not it's just their political parties affiliations turn me off. I don't like Republicans because they're too conservative and I don't really care for Democratic party because they aren't liberal enough. I'm more of a liberation but I do agree with democrats on some issues at times. I don't recall ever really agreeing with republicans on any issues. So I usually end up voting for Democratic candidates. Not because I consider myself a democrat but because I consider them the lesser of the two evils.
If this is going to be the official discussion for the 2008 election, we should change the thread title, no? _________________ I just want to eat your brains.
Personally, I wouldn't vote for either of the two. Because, let's not hide behind our fingers. The policies that the USA follows at least in its foreign politics are not going to change, no matter if the president is a Republican or a Democrat. Both of them support American interventionism (the new era of colonialism), multinational corporations, military and economic alliances (like NATO, NAFTA and EU) that only bring poverty.
Kerz, it's about picking the lesser of the evils. And besides... we've finally got a black man! I mean, come on. Who would you rather pick, idealistic Obama, Bush-like war victim John Insane, Hilary Clinton, or the other crazy unmentionables? _________________ I just want to eat your brains.

None of them. I don't like choosing the lesser of the evils. I'd rather revolt and change the situation. But the situation won't be changed as long as the US remains undemocratic. One could easily verify that by checking the number of major socialist parties in the States. Guess what, Infy. There isn't a single major socialist party in the States. The only US party I respect is the Black Panther Party and that has been disolved ages ago. If Obama was running for office under the umbrella of the Black Panthers I would support him. As long as he runs under the umbrella of the Dems his colour doesn't mean anything.
Plus, Obama has stated that he is going to continue bombing the Palestinians. And that is a crime in my book.
Right now it seems McCain will have a close victory, according to the polls I've seen. Here in Europe Obama is a lot more popular though, and the media primarily focus on him. I think that's a shame, since it's obvious how incredibly biased the media here is (and makes other people). But anyway I don't think Obama is a good candidate to lead the USA, though I'd rather have him then McCain.

Despite the idea of such extreme measures I actually I agree some what. I guess I've just become to jaded with the idea of politics to believe anything will really change. I do believe that we should have more to choose from then just two parties. We should have more ideas and views points then just two.
There are more parties, but the ones that are the most mainstream are the Republicans and Democrats. Believe me, there are many parties you folks have probably never heard of. Hell, Canada has a Nazi Party of Canada. _________________ I just want to eat your brains.

I know that there are a lot of parties in the US (other major parties include the Greens, the Libertarians and the Constitution Party) and there's even a Libertarian National Socialist Green Party but still as long as all the Socialist parties are minor I cannot consider the US a democratic country.

Keresztes is completely right. Voting for the "lesser" of two evils leads you to situations like we have here in Pakistan. No matter who comes, nothing changes, the policies remain the same. If people really do want change, they should revolt and overthrow the government. Sitting around and hoping for change is stupid. A miracle won't happen unless people do things themselves. Democracy give people the chance to change things, or is SUPPOSED to. But sadly nothing ever changes because the bottom line is that evil is evil. There is no lesser or greater. Evil is evil.
I obviously can't vote because I'm not an American citizen. I'm not supporting either candidate either. I don't know why Obama is such a popular figure. Hilary Clinton would have been a far better candidate as compared to Obama, but either way I still wouldn't support the democrats. The republicans, meh. One problem with the US elections is that there are only two major parties, and guess what. Both suck donkey balls. _________________ My Facebook, My Youtube, My Last.FM, My Blog
An Obama win would simply increase the ZOG's stranglehold on white Americans across the nation. To finally break the shackles of Israeli oppression, we must not only prevent Obama from being elected, but plow the Democrat's fields with salt and work to erect a Fourth Reich from McCain's term in office. Though his choice of a female for VP is regrettable, I feel that he will stand for what all White Americans truly desire: a return to traditional values free of liberal contamination.

Got any reasoning behind that, Egoleech? What is ZOG, and how are they strangleholding white Americans, and how the fuck would Obama winning cause any of this? He seems a better candidate than McSane, who wants to be at war with my home country for 100 more years. I don't think I like seeing my people die because of some morons who started a war on false pretenses, would you like that to happen to yours? _________________ I just want to eat your brains.
Obama recently said that he's going to invade the mountains of Pakistan and kill the terrorists who attacked the US. I'm one of the few people who support the war on terror, but this is total crap. There is no way in or out of those mountains for those illiterate people, they have no communication with the outside world, how could they have masterminded the attacks!? _________________ My Facebook, My Youtube, My Last.FM, My Blog
