I'm looking for gothic rock similar to Charon. I love their sound, especially on Songs for the Sinners. I love that album! _________________ I just want to eat your brains. |

Well Charon aren't Gothic Rock they're Gothic Metal. As far as some thing similar I'd recommend Fields of the Nephilim, Inkubus Sukkubus, The Mission or The Sisters of Mercy. They're some of the more Hard Rock influenced Gothic Rock bands. I usually recommend them to people who like Gothic Metal or Metal in general. |

I like Bauhaus. Are there any other bands that have a sort of post-punk sound in them? _________________ *also known as whoisthat at ML*

The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division. You might also like Christian Death. I recommend their debut album Only Theatre of Pain. It's a classic Deathrock album. |

I didn't say they were gothic rock (I've only listened to 2 of their albums, what can I say? ), but I said I'd like something in gothic rock in their vein.
Those sound good. I shall proceed to kill computer space. But, can you give me an album from each band to start off with? I think it'd make things easier. _________________ I just want to eat your brains. |

Sorry I must have miss read it. As far as albums go let me think:
Fields of The Nephilim - "Dawnrazor" and also "Mourning Sun"
Recommended songs: Power, Preacher Man, Mourning Sun
Inkubus Sukkubus - With Inkubus Sukkubus I would probably just start Wytches & Vampyres because it has a lot of their best songs on it. It's probably the best way to get an idea of what their style is like.
Recommended songs: Heart of Lilith, Sweet Morpheus
The Sisters of Mercy - For them I'd probably recommend their first album "First and Last and Always."
Recommended tracks: Walk Away, Marian
The Mission: Personally I don't really like them but since they are a second generation Gothic Rock bands with a more Hard Rock sound I recommended them. But from what I've heard I really like the song "Deliverance." |

Joy Division and The Cure are great. I'll check out the other two. _________________ *also known as whoisthat at ML*

Hey Melancholia, I couldn't find that Inkubus Sukkubus album for download. If you have a link or something, that'd be good. _________________ I just want to eat your brains. |

I just got finished updating the recommendations page of my site. I added a playlist with songs from various Goth bands including Inkubus Sukkubus. So if you're interested you can find them here. |

I like Joy Division and The Sisters of Mercy (their early stuff) but I don't listen to this genre as much as I used to. Can you recommend me anything similar to the album First and Last and Always? |

Ido - you might like the bands The Shroud and X-mal Deutschland, their sound has always reminded me of SoM. |

Virgin Prunes was a good band. I only know a few songs from them but Caucasian Walk is the song I recommend. I dunno on which album it is. |
