I think that if they (Catholics) would look into a King James Bible for themselves instead of blindly believing what the Vatican says they just might find that when John was on the isle of Patmos he saw a great king and not a baby. It was a Lamb as it had been slain that took the book from the right hand of he that was seated on the throne.
Revelation says his garments are dipped in blood and his name is called The Word Of God!
That is a man of war and no baby.
If the Catholics wish to pray I would hope that they would give him the honour of being a King of kings and a Lord of lords. That one mediator between man and God, the "man" Christ Jesus!
And with the wrath that will shortly be poured out, I truly wish that they would repent and believe the gospel and be saved.
I may appear harsh but I do care.

I agree with you Frank.we know in scripture that Jesus told us that He is the only one who can intercede for God.
Not an angel, not a saint ,not Mary or anyone else. only Jesus Christ.
John14:6 I am the way the truth and the life,No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus, the lion of Judah is going to return on a white horse with the sword of truth. He is going to return to defeat the Antichrist and His Hordes. He is going to sit in judgement of all of us when He returns.
Pope Leo XIII wrote a famous prayer that starts: “St. Michael, the Archangel, Defend us in battle, Keep us safe from the wickedness and snares of the devil.” He wrote this after a vision in which he saw Michael sending Satan back to hell.
The problem I have with this prayer is that I would direct it to Jesus Christ, not an archangel because I understand that angels are messengers for God and to glorify Him,not to intercede for God.

:churchamen:
To both of your posts.
And I would like expound a little more on something you said Frank. You got that right, Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, is no baby! If we just think about the opening of the prayer to "the infant Jesus" who not only does not exist, let's look at what the definition of INFANT says and see just how fruitless a prayer it really is, even if one believed that "the infant Jesus" did exist. The very first definition in the dictionary is "a child in the earliest period of its life especially before he or she can walk." Source: Dictionary.com

Such an "infant" can't even take him or herself to the potty or prepare for him/herself a meal. It is helpless and completely dependent.
:hammer:

Point blank, it is completely heretical and completely unBiblical to pray such a prayer, but the above definition also makes it completely inane in the most raw sense of the word.

And right you are LG, on the side note there. We are not to pray to angels regardless. Jesus taught us how to pray and none of it included such heresy.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you. Titus 2:11-15

I agree with both of you.In addition Mary the mother of Jesus should be blessed, but I believe should not be elevated to the heights extold by Catholicism.Only Jesus can intercede for prayer.Jesus is the only way to the Lord.

Ugh! :gag: Praying to a baby doll? This is a load of manure. My L-rd is the Creator of the Heavens and the earth. He didn't stay a baby.

Well, at least it's not a prayer to a host of Saints and Angels. Yes, the infant bit is not good IMHO though..

Hmmm, well that is subjective.
I see no difference between the one idol or the others, just because one has the name "Jesus" attached to it. As in "the infant Jesus" The infant Jesus does not exist. Just like the infant version of me, does not exist. So for someone to talk to one of my baby pictures for instance, when I am right here, is wacko to say the least, but in this case, with this particular scenario, that thing is nothing more than an evil and nauseating little idol! :?
And praying to it is nothing short of pure idolatry. :hammer:
