|
|
One of the most important battles of the U.S. Civil War --and indeed of all U.S. history -- was the battle of Gettysburg. During the three days July 1-3, 1863, the country held its collective breath. This titanic struggle between the Confederate Army of North Virginia commanded by Robert E. Lee and the Union Army of the Potomac under General George Meade may have ultimately decided the war.
If the South had won a major victory, some historians believe that it would have caused the Confederacy to gain international recognition and support from England and France, humiliated Abraham Lincoln, and resulted in a negotiated end to the war on the Confederacy's terms.
Want to see if you could have lead the battle to victory click the url below you can read the full article or just scroll to the bottom and click continue to see how your leadership skills are.

Wow "Outsider" that game was awesome, I can tell you this If Jackson or I were there you would be singin' Dixie at baseball games in the South. I just whipped some yankee butt. I love it!

Glad that you liked it bud I have not honestly tried to be honest but will soon.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Now that would be nice speaking of which I used to have a Horn on my old camaro that played Dixie just like General Lee from the dukes of Hazzard show _________________

Sure, if Lee had won Gettysburg, the Civil War would probobly have been won. However, although fun, i the simulation is a bit simplistic, i, personaly am a big fan of 'Longstreet's Option:' taking the Round Tops and using their commanding position overlooking the battlefield and dividing the Union Forces from Washington into forcing the Union to attack at a disadvantage. Also the tragic and untimely death of Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson would have remained a heavy blow, especialy after Lee's death in 1870. _________________
