Greetings:
Here is the URL where you can hear a recording of a Rebel yell:
http://www.26nc.org/History/Rebel-Yell/rebel-yell.html
It doesn't sound like we thought it would, does it?
Well, the guy was NINETY years old, so maybe he wasn't physically able to accurately reproduce the original sound.
I do remember seeing a film of a Gettysburg battlefield reunion with some Confederate veterans demonstrating a Rebel yell.
Of course, I have my own version, created from my imagination, after having read a book when I was a small boy.
Naturally, I'm always right.
Just ask Colonel Tamar!
By the way, I had a terrible time getting into this web site yesterday.
I don't know what the problem was.
Thank you. _________________

Great link "writesong", I think he did well for a 90 year old. Shoot if I'm still on this side of the dirt & breathin' by then I'd be happy, let alone do a respectable Rebel Yell. God Bless "Pvt. Thomas N. Alexander of the 37th North Carolina" and all those like him, thank you for your service to North Carolina and the Confederacy sir...
