This is a personal Memorial to Confederate Dead that "feathersandgrey" erected in Lawrence County, Bridgeport IL, it is very nicely done. I told him I would post it for him but I'm sure he will answer any questions y'all may have...
The inscription on the stone reads:
"THERE IS A TRUE GLORY AND A TRUE HONOR;
THE GLORY OF THE DUTY DONE
THE HONOR OF THE INTEGRITY OF PRINCIPAL"
Robert E Lee CSA
Dedicated to the memory of the 12 known Confederate Veterans buried in Lawrence County. And to those who lie here unknown yet.
Placed by the Illinois Division Sons of Confederate Veterans and Order of the Confederate Rose 2002

Thank you Sir, for y'alls most kind words, and for takin' the time to look at our little Memorial area. It has been a labour of love for my family, and I believe in my heart that in its own way made a stance for the Cause. It has been visited by more than 10,000 folks since it was placed. that is a victory in itself . Considering we live in the 'land of lincoln'

I have been toying with a similar idea where I live. there is a section in my front yard that I would like to build something similar on.
my own plans include a small pond in the center with a half circle ring of flagpoles and possibly a plaque at the top of teh waterfall for the pond.
by the way feather, your memorial and ur area seem familiar. are you who I think you are, or should I provide some "proof" of my idea of your identity?
