For some time I have been watching events unfold with the "League of the South". The League of the South is an advocate of "States Rights" and are calling for the secession of the original Confederate States again because of the perceived corruption of the U.S. Government and lack of good Southern / Christian values among other issues. The interesting thing is that when poled many Southerners are in favor of seceding from the U.S. again, South Carolina for example had a pole where a full 20% of her citizens were in favor of this. Even other non Southern States such as Vermont, Alaska and Northern California are in favor of secession. These states citizens are tired of what they see as unfair taxes and legislations that are forced upon them as surely as King George forced them on our young American {colonies} in the mid and late 18th century. The taxes are not being spent in their communities and the legislation is not Representative of their values. I feel there is something to this movement y'all, but don't believe me look in to it your self draw your own conclusions. Here is the link to their site, check it out;

Thanks for bringing this subject up. The right of secession is nothing less than the right of a people to govern themselves. That's what George Washington and Patrick Henry - Southron ancestors of ours - fought the British to obtain. It's what Jefferson Davis, Thomas Jackson and Robert E. Lee fought the Federals to obtain. It's what the next generation of Southrons, should we not somehow grasp it during our lifetimes, will carry on the battle to obtain. Until we are again a free and self-governing people - the struggle continues. _________________

Amen, my sons will know the truth. And then they will continue the battle... God Bless the Southland and the Confederate States of America!

honestly Johhnyreb, I don't look at it as seceding again After the constitutional secession of the southern states there was never a convention called in those states to rejoin the Union. The rightful, legitimate government of our states is, and has for 140 years been the confederate states of America. While undoubtedly the states would feel obliged to once again formally withdraw from the Union, it would really be nothing more than a liberation of a people that were conquered 140 years ago and remain, even today, in subjugation. I am a firm believer in this idea. _________________

You are quite correct but through the lies of the yankee government from reconstruction until now as you say some 140 years ago our kinsmen have been led to believe that ALL Southerners re-accepted yankee rule and begged our way back into the union, so that's mainly why I use the term, but you are correct... _________________

well, considering that most states have turned their backs on their own noble history and don't recognize their own lawful, sovereign acts, your use of the term is quite acceptable. _________________

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.
Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves
be burdened again by a yoke of slavery
