Traveling On My Knees

Last night I took a journey
To a land far 'cross the seas;
I didn't go by boat or plane,
I traveled on my knees.
I saw so many people there
In deepest depths of sin,
And Jesus told me I should go
That there were souls to win.
But I said, "Jesus, I can't go
And work with such as these."
He answered quickly, "Yes, you can
By traveling on your knees."
He said, "You pray: I'll meet the need.
You call and I will hear;
Be concerned about lost souls,
Of these both far and near."
I knelt in prayer, and tried it,
Giving up some hours of ease;
I felt the Lord right by my side
While traveling on my knees.
As I prayed on I saw souls saved
And twisted bodies healed
Saw God's workers strength renewed
While laboring on the field.
I said, "Yes Lord, I have a job,
My desire thy will to please:
I can go and heed thy call
By traveling on my knees."

Get Somebody Else
The Lord He had a job for me,
But I had so much to do,
I said: You get somebody else,
Or wait till I get through;
I don't know how the Lord came out
But He seemed to get along,
But I felt kinda sneakin' like,
Cause I know'd I done Him wrong.
One day I needed the Lord myself,
Needed Him right away,
And He never answered me at all,
But I could hear Him say:
Down in my accusin' heart---
I've got too much to do;
You get somebody else,
Or wait till I get through.
Now, when the Lord has a job for me,
I never tries to shirk,
I drop what I have on hand,
And does the good Lord's work;
And my affairs can run along,
Or wait till I get through,
Nobody else can do the job,
The Lord's marked for YOU.

So I plod along and struggle in the
hope when day is through.
That I'm really necessary to the things
God wants to do.
And there isn't any service I can give
which I should scorn.
For it may be just the reason
God allowed me to be born.

Family Harmony
Family harmony is not some thing you can
achive just by the asking. Nor is it something
that will occur like magic, it is something you
must work at.
Hold back words that hurt, a temper hurts
even more.
Treat each other with the same tenderness
and kind devotion you did during your courting days.
Marriage should be the beginning of true courtship.
not its ending.
Renew your marriage vows together now and then.
And always remember that the love you invest in
each other and in your children is like the rays of the
sun hitting a polished mirror---it's warmth will be reflected
back to you many times.
