For your fresh produce you can go to your local
farmers market, or watch your local paper and
buy straight from some of your local farmers.
My parents travel down home to Rocky Mount
and Tarboro to buy collard greens, snap beans,
sweet potatoes, sausage and other products
straight from the farmers. As soon as the first
frost hits the collards she will be heading down
home. If you don't know how to can, get a book
or ask some older ladies at your church or even
you mom to teach you. Buy fresh southern produce
in the summer and can it or freeze it for the winter.
It not only keeps your money in the south but it will
help keep money in your pocket.

Great advice "Patches" and very true and nothing tastes better than local farm grown produce and if it's local you also have the added advantage of knowing that it is fresh, ripe and probably has less chemicals and so forth in it. So keep it local and keep it in the SOUTH! Ya'll...

That is great advise Patches, as Reb said we always try to buy Southern, if not North Carolina then at least it's Southern.

Folks, the 'Buy Southern' movement is about our own empowerment and survival. That's why I'm a huge supporter of this movement. If it's made in Michigan... put it back on the shelf!!!

Our Florida LoS is making me proud. We have, in my opinion, the best leadership in our Nation, our President is something else. He is committed with a capital C. Never been more proud to be 7th Generation Native Floridian! And who says Florida ain't Southern?

LOL, I hear ya R.G. 3/4 of my family is from Florida {St. Augustine} and the rest from Kentucky, so your news about the Florida LoS President is great news indeed. If only we could wrest control of "South" Florida out of the clutches of the yankees we'd be a lot better off.

Outstanding video Palmetto Patriot. The bit about South Carolina's economic past is something my friend and I discuss often. The attrocities committed on the South, by the yankee occupiers is ignored, and it's disgusting to me.
We're fighting an uphill battle, but this is definately a simple step in the right direction. My local Piggly Wiggly is proud to carry many southern products, and make great locally-grown produce available conveniently. If your store doesn't carry local produce, ask them to, or take your hard earned dollar elsewhere. Keep it local! |
