|

According to the site, the tables and fixtures were finalised last night.
Will the Amida team be play Division 1? I can't see Bromley LTC stepping up with the level of players they've got. Me thinks they'll be quite happy for another season in D 2.
So assuming Amida are in Div 1, here are my predictions:
1. Bromley Cricket (Champions)
2. Biggin Hill
3. Amida
4. Park Langley
5. Cascades
6. Tunbridge Wells
7. Bexley
8. Cannons
9. Dulwich
10. Park Langley 2 |

Cannons will be in top 3,very strong this season with Ted and are training hard. Langley 1 i think are going to struggle with no steve and apart from Clive the rest are all a similar standard.Biggin Hill will be up there at the end.Langley 2 dont write them of just yet.
Amida can,t play div 1 if they have been relagated regardless of how strong you are.Surely they have to earn the right to play there like the rest of us. |

Err I think you're underestimating the Cascades boys with that prediction! Go as far to say we will be top 3 (no pressure Tony et al) . . even offer little side bet to any disbeliever!! |

Cannons top 3???? You must be joking.
Stabler might win 1/4 of games, Kimpton I don't really know but doesn't sound very good, Ted Jeal won't be strong at 3, Leach loses to everyone, Wilmor is a strong 5. Doesn't make for a very strong team to me.
Who have cascades got playing for them Jackal? |

Gary 'on the ball'?
When was the last time that happened?
Do you include their other life as New Eltham? |

I agree with 'guest', Amida/Fitness Exchange were relegated, why should they stay up? Can't see it happening myself. |

Bromley Cricket won't be good enough either. The team to watch are Bexley. They'll come up trumps this season. |

Hill give it all the Biggun (no pun intended) but they won't win the Winter. It's getting harder and harder and when you look at how close the other seasons were, it doesn't take much to se they will come unstuck.
Old McManus at 1 can't keep up to that sort of Pace and Lennox is pretty on and off. Who else they got? |

I also agree with guest a side can't stay in a Division if they are relegated, its just like if a team wins their Division they go into the next one, don't they??! That is unless its Division 1 then their League Champions!!
As for the assault on the Cascades personnel I would say to the party in question my offer is still upstanding , make yourself known to make arrangements. As for the weight question of our No. 3 (!!!) Iwould like to say in Stu's defence that this is down to maturity which is now reflected in his game!! It has nothing to do with him having extra fajittas each week after his match!! |

To be fair the old Fitness Exchange team of last winter is almost an entirely different line up to the Amida team put forward this winter.
I say it don't count and we get put in Div 1!! |

No chance Cascades, you're teeing people up for a fall - who's your team?
Amida are too good to be in Div 2, they'll wipe the floor with everyone, what's the point in that? |

What about 2-up 2-down? Stick Bexley IIs in Div 1. That would solve their selection problems. |

Bromley C.C. last won division 1 in 1996, but that was the summer league and they were then known as New Eltham.
As for the winter, my records go back to the 1992-3 season and Bromley C.C./New Eltham have not won it in that time.
Maybe this is their year. |

Amida did come bottom in the summer season and expect to be in Div 2 next summer. Don't want to cheat or nothin!!
All i'm saying is Amida were not in the winter league last season and with new additions at the top of the ranking could be a strong team in Div 1....so why shouldn't we be in Div 1 if there's space? |

We could all do with some new additions! I thought BH had nicked them all.
Is the transfer window still open? And can we buy players after their teams have been relegated? They are usually a lot cheaper. Just look at what they did to my Hammers (soory Gary - still waiting for your resignation); and they bounced back. |

Bexley II have finished in the top two of the summer division 2 for the last three years, but have declined promotion.
If they turn it down again next summer, at least the Amida problem could be sorted out for then. |

Bexley will struggle early on in the season but will come good later on, they have a very strong team not forgetting that they can call on substitutes Brind and Steeden when they are short.
I think they will win Div 1 |

Why will they struggle early on No.5, are they just slow starters or are they/you missing players? Or are you just getting involved inthe forum banter - probably the latter.
Very true if Steedon and Brind are playing they'll be strong, very strong. Can't see it happening though. |

'PJ' always complained that, when he was away, Bexley IIs had to bring in Ms Brind to replace him!
Where have all the youngsters gone? |

seems strange that every year I hear bexley this bexley that and yet biggin hill appear to have managed to win three on the bounce with a fairly average squad and a lot of commitment, carry on the biggun ................... |

It's true that the Biggin Hill side were average in the Summer and not going for the title. It's not until we realised we were in with a fighting chance that we recruited in our hidden diamond (Toby).
He's certainly going to be a powerful force up the top end of the order for us this season. But more importantly, he likes his beers like me and the rest of the chaps. Here's to a good season.. |

I'm sure I have seen ML with a glass of babysham on match nights.
Mr Steeden could well be playing a few matches for Bexley as the superleague has now folded. |

Yes, we had actually factored in your involvement Mr. Steedon. There's no way you could leave the Bexley boys drowning and out of their depth like that. Could you imagine if Bexley went down? Badger's head would be lopped off before you could say 'Biggin Hill 4th title'. |

So, if Messrs Steeden, Badger and Sumner are assured of Div 1 f.t.b., will there be enough fresh young blood for the Bexley IIs? Heaven forfend that the IIs should be left to flounder just to prevent the march up of the Hill.
After all, ML has nobly sacrificed one or more of his precious teammates for the sake of the fledging new BH IIs. And he may even have to play 3rd string himself, so as not to upset the new boy.
All that, and a County Hot shot to boot |

I believe that Bexley have added a couple of players themselves. I'm sure the second team will be of considerable strength.
The first team will have to hope that everybody stays fit. |

Yes I'm not sure why they are top right now, it's not even alphabetical. Oh well we'll let then have their glory for now.

Dispels my theory of insider knowledge regards Bexley. |

I believe it is possible to sign for two clubs as long as you don't play for them both in the same season.
Which clube have you signed for, P.C.? |
