We talked about it, so you'll be pleased to know we're now doing it!
Event details

* The Coney Suite at The Warren in Hayes (holds 188 guests)
* 6pm - 12.30am
* Smart/evening wear
* Sit-down three-course dinner
* Summer presentations (players of the season, division winners, special awards)

Invites will be sent out to every club in the Priory within the next two weeks but in the meantime we'd be happy to hear your thoughts.
Cheers

Guys the ticket price has been set at £35 per person. Oh my god I hear you say!!! However, that includes a sit down top-in-the-range three course meal, presentation with players of the season etc, and a live band! Pretty good value I hear you say!!
There are a maximum of eighteen tables (seating ten on each) and there's twenty-six clubs in the league. It's working on a first come first served basis so please let us know if your club will be interested in coming along.
So far the clubs that have snapped up a table are:
Biggin Hill
Dulwich x 2
Cannons
That's four tables gone already..tick tock.. |

I'm sorry to say that the end of season ball has been cancelled due time constraints and a lack of interest from key people. With only 7 weeks to go, too many people were undecided as whether they would be coming or not. As I'm sure you can appreciate we would need firm commitment as far as 12 weeks in advance to make it all worth while.
It would be very helpful if people were to respond to this post or drop me an email to show support for this type of event to be staged at the end of the winter season. If the interest is there I can take this to the committee and we can begin planning for April/May 09.
Thanks

Well thanks for the support all. I think it's fair to say it's a damn good idea this didn't go ahead else I'd be working my balls off trying to create something that people don't give a to*s about. |

I must a say that I sent an e mail to the squad at Rodmersham and recieved one yes one no, I think the rest were worried they were going to take some flak from their Priory cousins after a few drinks
Sorry it did not work out this time ML but I'm sure perseverance will prevail (maybe a Summer ball at the end of the winter season with presentations? Poll it now and see what the interest is ). Congrats on winning the summer league. |

Thanks HS, we're pleased to win it after an unbeaten season and some really enjoyable evenings against new and existing teams.
A Summer ball for next year might well be a good idea although we'll need to still get the support.
Good luck for the winter.. |

M.L there was interest in the ball. I had 1 table from cannons and 1 from langley. I think the event has to be attractive to all players. A lot of players that had finished mid table expressed the opinion of whats the point we haven't won anything. I know it's not aimed as a stage for division winners to collect there trophys but that is how it is perceived. I still think it's a great idea and has a lot of potential. |
