On the face of it a poor show by Tunbridge Wells last week. When their 1st team could only put out 3 players (obviously not fancying their chances against Dulwich I) on the same night they chose to put out 3 ex Division I players in their 2nd team's match down in Division 5. |

I see Tunbridge Wells were at it again last week, unable to field 5 players in their Division 1 match at HOME, whilst on the same evening sending a very strong 2nd team team out to Wildernesse for their Division 5 match. |

Seems strange that BH1 took 4 players to TWSC in November whilst BH2 fielded their strongest team against BCC at home the same night, any comments on that one ML???? |

Steve Johnson and John Lawton are now 2nd team players. They have chosen to play for the 2nd team as they were not playing regularly for the 1st team and will continue to play for the 2nd team for the remainder of the season. They are also entitled to play twice for the 1sts when not on 2nd team duty. Unfortunately this means that our 1st team does not have many reserves, and we have been unable to field a full team on two occasions. On the first it was known well in advance that we would be short and Dulwich were given ample notice of this. On the second occasion a player withdrew on the day of the match due to an injury sustained the previous day.
Our first team has avoided relegation on the final day of the last 2 seasons. We have no reason to believe this season will be any different and as such we try to win as many points each match regardless of the opposition. It is not in our interests to field less than 5 players, particularly against the team currently sitting at the bottom of the league where we would have had a good chance of winning the number 5 tie.
As for when BH1 came to play us, they were let down about half an hour before the match by someone who now appears to have been jettisoned from the team. As a result they very nearly lost to us, which doesn’t seem to be the best course of action for a team with ambitions to win the league.
Hope that clarifies things.
