Anyone, PC, got thoughts on where to hold the A & B cup tournament 'Finals Night' this time?
Also, what about these ideas?
Finals to be held on a Saturday meaning plate finals start at say 5pm with main finals going on at say 7.30pm? This would concentrate the spectator support on the matches be played at that time. It would also eliminate the need to go to an 8 court location which is expensive, and not so appealing for the neutral to travel to.
Best locations would probably be Park Langley or Bexley with their increased viewing glassbacks?
Lastly, the cups could be sponsored (if anyone's interested) and known as the A&Z cup or the Ivor Howell Cup for example?
Just a few thoughts, be interested to hear other opinions? |

I reckon the dashing bar manager at Bexley could run some sort of drinks promotion if the finals night were held there.
Dist from Balcony to Bar at Bexley....3metres
Dist from Balcony to Bar at PL.....down the stairs, round the corner and along the corridor (feels like about 8miles)
I know what my choice would be!!! |

Excellent, especially the bit about the drinks promotion!!
Obviously this is essentially down to the priory committee but all other ideas are welcomed.
It would also be nice do the presentation for the Winter and Summer trophies on that night. At least you'd guarantee more people's attendance - not least Biggin Hill for their summer triumph!! |

Sorry for not replying earlier ML.
Next April seems such a long way off. However, tempus fugit.
Your idea of holding the finals on a Saturday is a very good one.
I think Bexley, Biggin Hill and Park Langley are the only feasible local venues to use on just one day.
In the past, the finals have been held at these three clubs on different occasions and we know which of these are more likely to work better.
Please don't ask me to elaborate suffice to say that, especially after the last finals night, we have to be very careful regards cost amongst other things. |
