What we gonna do about getting more clubs and players in the league. Anyone know of clubs that used to play priory but now don't?
Also, do you have to be in North West Kent to play Priory? |

You could an internet search on 'squash clubs in kent' or look on England squash for affiliated clubs, and then send letters to all inviting them to join the Priory. |

The Count's right, that's a great way of attracting clubs, might need more of a personal touch though. These letters often find themselves in the bin. |

I think the best way to get new players into the league is to get to the clubs that maybe have only one team and try to increase it to two.
Acacia hall, Amida, beckenham, biggin hill, cobdown, dartford, david lloyd, fitness exchange, knole park, old dunstonians, old elthamians, poultwood, sydenham, tunbridge wells, waterfront and wilderness all only have 1 team.
If the current members of that team could pursuade some others at the club to start a new team then we would have 16 new teams, that is 3 more leagues. |

Your idea is very valid in principal, but why is it that the likes of Park Langley I and Cannons I all too often only have 4 man teams?
Maybe these clubs need to have fewer sides to then avoid the mockery of the final division 1 standings. |

I'd hardly call it a mockery. It's often hard to get players out with it being the holiday season and all. Alot is down to the captains and a bit of preparation. They should at the start of the season be recruiting as many potential players as possible (even if they don't use them).
It might be a better idea if the league actually listened to the teams that have repeatedly suggested having four man teams in the summer?
Regarding clubs putting out more sides, yes I agree with this but just as long as there are enough players.
What you have to do is to is think of ways to entice clubs to enter, incentivise them and make it attractive. You have to perhaps think of why they would want to enter i.e. raising the profile of their club, attracting new members etc. Then highlight those points. Why don't you start off by writing letters to all clubs inviting more teams to join up and why they should.
Sorry I'm rambling here but there are allot of points to consider. |

This week, we could have fielded two four-man teams and been done by 8.45 instead of 10.15!
Certainly worth another look. |

If MFB had attended the A.G.M. or read the minutes from it, then he/she would know that someone did propose 4 player teams.
The Committee put it to the vote and all of us on the floor rejected it apart from the person whose proposal it was.
Why are the Priory Committee starting to take so much stick lately? |

The Surrey cup has 4 man teams in the summer and there is no food. It has it's plus and minus points. The matches are finished earlier and cheaper but you still have trouble getting teams out.
In the summer I prefer the 4 man option.
P.S. I don't think the committee are taking to much stick, it is encouraging to have some many people thinking and putting forward opinions |

I was at the AGM.
I'm not sure about 'stick', it's more constructive than anything else. The problem with the AGM is that people don't really have a chance to think about what's being proposed until it's upon them that night. Was there an agenda sent our prior to the AGM stating proposals for people to think about?
What I mean by this is that someone coming along to an AGM up and just suggesting a four man team is quite a change, people don't like change unless they are sure it's the right thing. They need time to think about it.
This is not a blight on the committee, it's just the way it is. I'll bet if you put it to the vote now, you'd get allot of people backing the four man team idea.
Remember it's all constructive, and we know the committe is doing a great job. |

Priory Committee official statement :-
All team captains are sent the A.G.M. agenda and are offered the chance to submit any new rules or rule change proposals. This year none were received.
However, an E.G.M. can be called for and would take place, should there be enough support.
There does seem to be an increasing amount of support for four player teams and it's only fair that the opportunity be made to discuss and then vote on this subject. |
