An E.G.M. will be held if there is likely to be enough interest shown. This means having a far larger turnout than we had at the A.G.M.

The main point of discussion, at this moment in time, would be 4 player teams in the summer.

Your going to hold a meeting to discuss one point that doesn't affect anything till next summer? Not sure qhow many takers you'll get. Wouldn't it be better to raise a few points or to do a poll in this forum and base it on that? That surely is as good a indication as any?

Couldn't have put it better, Peter.

What about a remedy for all these walkovers that have made such a dent in my 'Squash Dosh' aspirations?

The A.G.Ms. take place after the summer entries have been received. Therefore, it would be too late to implement 4 player teams, should it be passed through, had we not held an E.G.M. beforehand.

The problem with conducting a poll within the Forum is that voting on any new rules or rule changes is restricted to one vote per club.

Unfortunately, there are too many aliases on the Forum to enable a democratic outcome.

An E.G.M. would also allow the opportunity for anyone to raise other matters that they feel need addressing without having to wait until next May.

okay I see your point. Perhaps people should start adding additional topics now such as the one JJ made.

On that walkover note, I think there should be a 10 point fine for teams that just offer a walkover to the oposing team. I can't believe they are unable to put out at least one player!

Peter, that is exactly the reason for having an E.G.M. in the not too distant future.

If your 10 point deduction suggestion were to be proposed and voted in, it would come into effect from the start of the winter season, should we have had the E.G.M. by then.

This applies to any new approvals that might take place.

Kind of difficult to put a sensible post here with a parrot glaring at me!

Anyway, I personally think most people are very happy with the way the league is run or else they'd go to the AGM to vent their frustration. Ideas like the four man team are only being brought to light because people suddenly realise it's easy to have their voice heard on a forum such as this one. I know many captains that actually are quite happy with a five man team as it gives a good rotation system to enable more club players to play Priory.

Re the one vote per club, why don't you send an email to every captain asking their thoughts on a list of proposed changes. If enough people want to change a rule, it can be changed. In reality, it's the only way you'll ever get close to hearing every clubs opinion - and that's what you want surely?

The thing is, there are no proposed rule changes. It's all just talk within the Forum.

For example :-

4 player teams for the summer.

Exchanging of match cards with all names filled in before matches commence (enforcing rule 9b).

Emailing match cards thus eliminating the need to fax or post.

10 point penalty for a team conceding a walk-over.

American scoring.

If the majority of clubs are happy with the rules as they stand, then fine. They are, after all, the clubs' rules.

We were merely offering the opportunity for an E.G.M. to take place as a few new ideas had suddenly been voiced and we felt obliged to have them listened to and then voted on officially.

EGM sounds a good idea we can discuss all of the proposed rule changes that we did at the agm in May

Do we need to turn up or shall we just send a copy of the minutes of the AGM?
