Just to say a big well done to the Biggin Hill players for third successive Division 1 title. At the beginning of the season the idea was to just put out a regular non superstar line up and see how we'd go. admittedly, we've been lucky not to have many injuries, but on the whole, all the Biggin hill lads have put out sterling performances throughout.
Team consisted of:
Gordon McManus
Toby Mortimer
Mark Lennox
Ray Bushell
John Lane
Simon Wanford
Stuart Clark
Stuart Melbourne
Also would like to thank Louis from Bromley Cricket for taking up the bribe and being 'unavailable' for the crunch match in our penultimate fixture. |

Kent Chump indeed! I won't have our faithful Mr. McManus' name slurred on this forum.
He did actually win although he did play one notch down the order. All in all he's earned us a great many points this season. |

Actually 155 (50 points were for 10 wins for the team). And took the heat off the 2nd string (PB) on innumerable occasions. Must be worth a beer at least? |

It sounds like "Guest" is a jealous top division 1 player.
Give credit where it's due. Biggin Hill have a good balance to their squad, which is hardly the size of their envious rivals.
They are obviously all team players, not egotistical individuals.
And no, before you ask, I am not one of "Pretty-Boy's" aliases, just "On the fence".  |

Bloody hell, turn away for a minute and it all goes off!!
Sad Statto, when you put it like that it doesn't sound that much - I think you have to realise that 18 games won at number 1 in division 1 is very good going. And as L&DL says, it also takes the heat off the rest of the team and obviously helped us win the league.
In response to Guest's comments, no places are guaranteed in our team, we play for them and find that's the fairest way. So I guess I'll be challenging Mr. McManus and also receiving challenges from both Bushell and Lane who are strong on their day.
We'll see.. |
