Following some friendly conversations between the two capt's a decision to limit the cascades bar bill was reached
The two teams lining up for a long evening of first class squash will be
Tim Vail v Farzan Rasheed
Alex Igham v Phil Nightingale
Neil 'Fonzie' Baker v Rory Pennell
Stuart 'Fatboy' Lamprel v Mark Lennox
Ashley 'Sicknote' Tomlin v Dean Newberry
For sure there are going to be some fantastic battles here. I think the two deciding contests will be the Lennox vs Fatboy plus Rory vs Fonzie
Everybody welcome. We probably won't win this one but I'm looking forward to a great beer drinking evening

What a joke you are over the flippin hill. You post up saying you've got that team and then change your mind becasue you think you're going to lose. You are pathetic son! Like your joke of a team. Nah that's out of order on the team although you can see how they are getting dragged down by your stupid obsessions. Just pick your bloody team and stick with it.
ML son, I'm with you mate have those pikies off
Oh yeah, will baker actually get to play 3 or are you going to change your minf and whak him in at 4 for good measure.
NB, sorry son for a bit of grief I've given you before, I actually feel for you. Should have stayed at 2 for the Rods |

your right pietro he should have stayed with his original team but then he probably didnt realise he was just helping that oth to live his little fantasy. need to get a life sunshine |

As normal P, wrong again. As it happens the original team had a player above Alex based on the fact that we expected Stacy Ross to play. Given that Mark has just told me he's not playing, I asked the player if he still wanted to play. As he had re-arrange his coaching to enable him to play and he wants to play and I feel have to include him.
It's only at the top of the order the line up will change.
LLL, what are you on, there's only two teams NB isn't playing no1 against and that Rodmarsham and BH Now based on the fact that he would have been no2 for all of the games for Rodder's, he's getting better games playing for us. He wanted to play Graham at Rodder's, he got to play him. He would like to play Rory at BH, so he shall. the only people bitchin' about NB and Cascades are the ones who are not involved with the team.
Pietro, are you going to play against us or are you still on a course learning the rules |

wot am i on, well lets see now.
so nb is not playing 1 against the 2 tough teams in the league and he aint even at 2. and now your poncing round with your order again at the top so does that mean he goes down another slot?
so the teams he might play at 1 are sundridge mote and t wells.
wow ring a ding ding
you might think im on something but least i dont wonder round in my own little fantasy land like you sunshine |

Read the team list LLL, Cascades are playing 3 of their normal players, and BH are playing 2 Cascades where going to play NB at 4 if Rory who is a full time pro player was at 4. As he is at 3 NB is playing 3. No point in playing NB against JB they do that most weeks and if you think Graham is a push over I suggest you challenge him to a game (great player), and no disrespect to Malcolm but I think he should be no2.
So when you get a life and wake up come and see some great squash next week.
More to the point did you go along and see the BH v Rodder's game last night? I presume you only support your team and are not interested in others.
Captain's performance last night Good win over Graham. well played ML. Fatboy next week, easy |

Im with you on this one pietro.
Over the hill has nothing to do with the hillbillies, Although reading a few of his posts he does seem to have some sort of obsession with the club.
Well done in getting the teams up though chaps. Now we can see who is playing it might just be worth a wander down to Cascades to see a good match. 4-1 The Hill and with the players they have they will go unbeaten this season. In my opinion. |

Grandad I love your optimism for the BH boys however there's no two ways about it, we're in trouble
Tim Vail could be too strong for Farzan although he'll put up a fight alright.
Alex Ingham should be too tricky for Phil Nightingale
Based on Rory's performance last night Neil Baker will be relishing this one. Although If Rory the performer turns out then it could be a different storey.
Me v Stuart Lamprell well I'm quietly confident here although you never know..
Deano v Ash Tomlyn - if Dean plays the way he did last night against Rodmersham then it could go Dean's way but we all know Ash is a good player and will give nothing up.
My prediction on the forum, 3-2 Cascades. |

Excellent squash, very entertaining on extremely hot courts
I'm looking forward to the report from Deano, I thought squash was a non contact sport? |

It was unfair on Tim last night, twice the age of his opponent and not quite at his fighting weight after a summer break.
An excellent result though, great to watch. |

Dean's excellent match report once again...
Squash is a non contact sport!
Off to Cascades for the 1st installment of what will be who finishes top. A great night of squash was in order as team had been agreed all we needed to do was turn up and watch it unfold. That was if both teams kept to their agreed line ups, thankfully they did and what a night of squash was delivered!
1st up was the 3rd string match Rory (Must do better Mr) Pennell verses Neil (I want to play at 1) Baker. This was going to be an interesting one after must do better Mr’s performance last week. But do better he did and playing his usual brand of lazy looking squash Rory won 3-0. Neil to be fair made a few too many errors and on a quick not just wants some tough games and doesn’t mind what no he plays at.
2nd on court was the 5th and 4th string matches. Deano (It’s a Let Tim please play on) Newberry verses Ash (It’s just to hot) Tomlyn and Mark (scamper) Lennox verses Stuart (I’m just Playing for time) Lamprell. Dean won the 1st 9-1 before Ash had even got going or the other match had even gone on court. But Ash is no mug and raced to a 8-5 lead in the 2nd. Dean once again grinded back to a 10-8 win. This seemed to take its toll an Ash’s fitness and from 4-4 in the 3rd Dean powered to a 3-0 win. By this point Mark was 2-0 in a similar pattern. 9-1 in the 1st and close but won the 2nd. From this point I popped my head up to see a very tired Stuart sending Mark scampering to all 4 corners, then at some point either putting it in the tin or just stopping. But both were good competitive games and the win was sealed with BH 3-0 up.
Next on were Phil (boast & drive) Nightingale and Alex (Gadget Man) Ingham. This again was a fairly close 3-0 win, I think (it could have been 3-1) but this time for Cascades. It was a match of some very long rallies with not many winners. Only point of interest was Alex nearly loosing the 2nd and getting a whack on the nose buy Phil. Please remember guy’s, squash is a non contact sport!
The final match on was Tim (The Vole) Vail and Farzan (run, run and run some more) Rasheed. What a match this was, I think we could have match of the season all ready. Tim by his own account had not played for 6 weeks so a slow start in coming to terms with Farzan’s hit hard and run game meant a fairly comfortable win for Farzan in the 1st game. Tim is no mug thou and some very cleaver squash and obscene nick’s saw him take the next two games to go 2-1 up. With the match over on the other court the balcony was full and this was when the match got very interesting. Tim was starting to look a bit tired and with some very cleaver fake runs to mean Farzan was putting the ball on his racket Tim raced to a 6-2 lead. By this point the game had slowed to a more manageable pace so Frazan cracked the whip and speed it back up again.
7 let calls at 8-7 match ball to Tim, Farzan then receives the serve with an audacious cross court roll out nick to get serve back and eventually take the match to a 5th game. In the 4th & 5th games Tim seemed to be getting frustrated with what he called shoving by Farzan, Lots of lets (I only saw slight contact and from both players as it happens!) and discussions on the rules later and we are a 7 all in the 5th. Tim plays another unbelievable low cross court volley nick to take match ball again. This time unlike the 4th Farzan takes the point into a rally and it unfortunately ends in an unforced forehand drive into the tin. Match 3-2, 9-7 in the 5th to Tim.
The time was now nearly 11:30, so some food, pre-ordered bears and good banter we are off home. A very late night for Tim, I got home at 12:40 and he lives’ 1 ½ hours further away from me. Pro’s like that should be welcome in any league! Next week we have another trek into the depths of Kent with an away fixture to Mote (Maidstone, I thought this was supposed to be North West Kent!) |

Farzan must have done remarkably well to only lose out 9-7 in the 5th considering he's playing with a racket with a broken main string as the photo suggests!!! (wonder how many people are gonna look at that photo again!!) |
