Heres the post that his close friend made on his website..
I am at a loss for words...
This evening Claudette Yamin passed away.
The world lost a beautiful soul.
I can't go into any details at this time except to say that she went peacefully.
Elliott wanted me to let you all know, but we are asking that you please respect the family's privacy at this time.
We are all aware of your prayers, and we thank you.
In lieu of sending flowers, we ask that donations be sent to the local chapter of the Richmond JDRF.
Thanks again for all your support and prayers..it's helped us through the day

She was a beautiful soul. Luckily for all of us who love her son, we know that she'll always have a home to watch over and in spirit, she'll always be nearby. I wish for Elliott and his family peace and endless love to ease through this time.

I will definitely keep them in my prayers.....poor Elliott...his mama meant so much to him, this is gonna be tough on him.....PLease Lord give him the strength and peace to get through this horrific time in his life

I was very sad to here this. I'll just echo what has aready been said. You could really see during Idol how proud she was of Elliot and the amazing bond the two of them had. my heart goes out to Ellliot and his family.

Yeah, La - you know E's Mama meant everything in the world to him. It shined from his eyes like a beacon. I hope someone is there to hold him close - he must be going bananas.
