I posted this on my Facebook so I thought I'd share this here too!

Joe Borowski: A Love/Hate Relationship.

As I watched the tragic end of the Indians and Angels game, I felt an intense urge to strangle Joe Borowski. This feeling isn't new nor shocking but as a loyal Tribe fan, I realized that maybe I ought to throw Joe Bo a bone. His role in the game seems to vary from hero to villain and whenever he makes the walk out to the mound to pitch (with the Rocky theme blaring), I feel an intense wave of anxiety. Will he save the day or is this game going to end in complete and utter destruction? After pondering this all for a few moments, I've realized that Joe Borowski isn't such a bad guy. The man had 45 saves last season! Sure he makes us sweat more than we'd ever like to in our lives, but he gets the job done. His bad days seem to stick out more in our memory than the good ones and with that in mind, I think we all need to cut the dude a little slack. Yes I may want to kill him when it's the bottom of the ninth and he's throwing balls or giving up base hits but he's apart of our "tribe", right? Let's show the guy a little more appreciation!

Oh I agree completely, when he saves the game we all love him, but just last night I wanted to strangle him....giving up a grand slam....that was so horrible!  But I'm pretty sure I'll end up loving him again before the end of the week.

Yeah, when he blows the game, that's all we can think about... we forget about his saves.  Afterall, some of his saves he gives up a run or two and sends us running for the Rolaids.  How many blown saves did he have last year?

Nevermind, I think I found it... 8 blown saves, that sound right?

That's probably right, and yeah we do think about the blown games because it hurts more, because we were winning!  Sad  Man he's making me really sad....

I agree with you Sarah..I'm so sick of people saying how much they hate JoBo..look at his saves! I know blown games hurt, but look at last year like Sarah said. He's not that bad a pitcher really..I was hearing something about how someone wanted to try Masa as a closer, but I said no, he makes my ulcers flair up more than JoBo..Wink

Masa has been fine in the regular season so far after a scary ST, but I do NOT want him as a closer!  If anyone I'd say Raffie right (although he's had it rough so far this season) should take the closer spot with Julio to take his set up role.

Really? I have ALL my faith in Raffy right..I think he's really going to do good this year. Sure he's had a rough start, but I think he'll really kick back into the swing of things in no time! ...:knock on wood:

Oh I have faith in him too, but he hasn't done so hot to this point.  He needs to get back in his groove.
