So basically the four nominees are Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, and Kevin Garnett. Some other names have been thrown around like Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan, but it's pretty much come down to those four. Who would you vote for?
I know I'm biased in saying Lebron James, but come on look at his numbers! He's number one in the entire NBA in points a night and he's third in minutes player a night. Yeah the Cavaliers might not have the best record, but he's still in the playoffs and he leads his team like a true MVP should. _________________

So everyone on the board, the three people who voted, lol, that Lebron should have won the MVP but he didn't, it went to Kobe....how do you all feel about that? _________________

Ladies, PLEASE don't take any offense to this whatsoever.
I have been watching the NBA for years. I may not have good knowledge with baseball, but with basketball I can honestly say I know my stuff. And I'm not boasting.
I can honestly say that LeBron is NOT the MVP of the league. Judging by the poll you ladies have, it's a little bias because the majority of you live in Ohio. It's not a controlled vote. Obviously everyone on here loves LeBron. But here's the opinion of someone not from Ohio or LA.
Now why isn't LeBron MVP? First of all, the East is a WEAK conference. The records tell you something. The Cavaliers did not even win the division and they are the number 4 seed. Granted, when LeBron was injured the Cavs tanked. I think LeBron is only the MVP of the East. Nothing more.
But I think the real MVP of the league is Chris Paul.
The Hornets used to be the laughing stock of the NBA. Chris Paul changed that team dramatically. The West is TOUGH. They are so good because of him. He makes his teammates stronger and better. They won their division, they literally burned TOUGH teams. I know they are in second place but by ONE game. They are only second to the Lakers. Chris Paul is hands down the man who should have been league MVP.
Who knows, maybe the Hornets will win it all this year. |

I just don't think it's fair that the team with the winning record gets it...this year and last year... _________________

No it's about how good your team fairs against the competition. And your record will show that. If you can only beat the dead-beat teams then what's the point? Can you handle the pressure of beating the big and tougher teams? |

My point is Dirk Nowitski won last year and he was on the Dallas Mavericks, best record in the NBA and blew it in the first round of the playoffs to the Golden State Warriors...I'm sorry but that's not my MVP.... _________________

Ok but that's a different story. Dirk didn't deserve that MVP last yr in my opinion for one reason: he's not a leader. Chris Paul is. Lebron is too but until they can be a FEARED team, then you can say Lebron is the MVP.
Honestly, this poll doesn't make sense. Yall can hate on me but there's only one reason Lebron is winning it: Most of you are from Ohio.
Most people don't think Lebron deserves the MVP. At least not yet. |

Yeah I'm from Ohio and yeah I think LeBron deserves MVP... but that's because I've seen what he's done to this team. Honestly I don't think he deserved it as much this year as the past couple years -- and I feel that way because of the team's improvement over the last couple years overall -- which is through his leadership. And, there are other players that deserved it as well... but I don't think Kobe did. Kobe's too much of a "me" player. LeBron isn't like that... so maybe that's why he'll never win it. _________________ ~*Michele*~ |

Yea I don't think Kobe deserved it either though. He never will. He'll never win a championship by himself either. |

The Hornets didn't even have the best record in the NBA so what I'm pointing at here is they have a GOOD and RESPECTABLE record. Second place in the West is a BIG deal if you ask me. Those teams are built tougher with exceptional offenses and suffocating defenses. Heck, the West is BETTER than the East. No argument there. AND Chris Paul is a great team leader. He may not have put up BIG numbers but he does a little bit of EVERYTHING and that's something. To many, it's just about who scores the most points, well I think it counts more when a player can do everything on both ends of the floor with such efficiency and undeniable talent. Chris Paul exudes talent and defines what it means to be a leader. He is an MVP. |
