Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks was on the radio not too long ago talking about how in the off season he likes to smoke pot, then later on he went to say the majority of the NBA does it so it's not a big deal. Everyone knows Carmelo Anthony was caught at an airport with weed on him, but that doesn't make it everyone in the NBA nor the majority. The NBA does random drug testing four times a season, and they can test any players at anytime during the off season if they feel someone is using.
So what do you all think of this?

To me this whole thing to me is not that shocking. Athletes get paid larges sums of money and end up ruining their lives by doing stupid things. But, Josh is doing this in the OFF SEASON. He is NOT harming anyone (but himself). He is not shooting up people at strip clubs or making it rain. He is not showing up high to his practices or games. He is dedicated. His rep is def. affected now and people will view him differently. It's good that he came out and confessed but he just said it at the wrong time. But, if that's what Josh wants to do with his life then let him decide for himself. He controls his life. And if he wants to be out of a job, then so be it, because that is what will happen. |

Oh I could care less what he does, I'm just a little upset that he would just say everyone else is doing it you know...like why are you all picking on me, so and so is doing it too. Just like the whole steroids in baseball, people are pointing fingers at people, Jose Canseco talking about A-Rod on national tv and in his book.

It bothers me that they do it, but whatever, they're grown men they can do what they want I guess. But to come out and say "everyone's doing it" is just such a poor example for children. So many kids/teens look up to these guys if they come out all the time now saying "yeah I smoke weed" then more younger people are going to think it's OK to do it too.

I know, when he started saying how you shouldn't say that stuff because of the kids I was like wait...what?! Because normally he's always saying things just to disagree with people, but yeah and then he went into detail about how he tried it before he had a brain...and I'm like yeah because doing pot for a while and then quitting makes you get a brain....

Ok so Josh Howard doesn't get why people are upset with the comments he made...uh maybe because you basically said the majority of the NBA does drugs...maybe that's why...
