From the wires:
MIAMI (AP) - Pat Riley's worst season as coach of the Miami Heat will be his last.
The Hall of Famer has resigned as coach but remains team president. Assistant coach Erik Spoelstra will replace Riley on the Heat bench, making the 37-year-old the youngest current coach in the NBA.
Miami finished the season with the NBA's poorest record (15-67) and, by far, the worst of Riley's 25-year career. _________________ ~*Michele*~ |

It sucks for him, but after winning the championship in 06, which I think was a complete joke...but anyway, then they got taken out in the first round last year by the Bulls, and then they had the worst record in the NBA this year and couldn't make the playoffs, then I think it's good they finally took some action and got rid of him. I know the Heat had a lot of injuries and stuff, but still, after being the NBA champions 2 years prior...they should have been better than what they were. _________________

Seriously, they only won 15 games this year??? I could have put together a team that could have won more than that.... I feel bad for him, but I man that's pathetic. _________________ ~*Michele*~ |

lol...go for his job Michele! But yeah that's what I was saying, there's no excuse to have a record like that, especially when you have people like D-Wade, and they had Shaq for most of the year. I'm not saying they're the most amazing players, but after coming off of a championship two years prior...they should have at least made it to the playoffs... _________________

They were saying on ESPN, just a guy saying his opinion was they went up to Riley and basically said we don't want to fire you because we respect you so we think it would be best if you resign. I wonder if that's what happened or if he just really chose to resign... _________________
