There is this guy that I really like. I think he might like me back. We have 1 class together. I sit behind him. I catch him looking back at me and then he turns away really fast or pretends he was looking out the window or the kid behind me. He is always leaning on my desk or he leans back like he is trying to crack his back, but he leans so far back he almost hits my head with his. His friend always pick on him when I'm around. When I walk towards him he messes with his hair or if he's with friends they will hit him or something and then he will glance at me quickly then turn away. He won't talk to me at all. His friend made a joke about me being really smart and then he said he was only kidding. The guy I like said "yeah you better be" to his friend and I didn't know what to think. He will talk to other girls in class just not me. He has had plenty of opputunities, but won't say anything. If I'm talking to his friend in class I can tell that he is listening in and he always watches me talk. Sometimes I think he likes me sometimes I think he's scared of me. I don't want to be the first to say anything. What do you guys think? |

how old are you sweetie? i know you don't want to make the first move but seriously, the only way you're going to find out what's up is if you talk to him and be straight with him. this situation sounds exactly like what i went through in high school, where the guy i liked would sneak glances at me and always listen when i was talking but he wouldn't ever say anything to me and i'd get mad when he'd joke with my girlfriends and ignore me. i didn't find out until years later that he liked me because i kept doing nothing and hoped eventually he'd ask me out, which he never did.
anyways, it sounds like he likes you but is scared. maybe he's scared of what his friends will think if he starts getting involved with you. has he ever had a gf before? idk your exact situation but again, i think you just gotta pull him aside and have a talk with him. hope this helps and welcome to the boards!

I think it would help to say something to him too... even if it's just a "hi, how are you" or "I didn't catch the page numbers for the homework, what were they?" Just an ice breaker, then you let him make the next move

Well I'm in high school. I don't know much about him, but I'm pretty sure he has never had a girlfriend before. Everyone keeps telling me to talk to him, but I can't. I try so hard to say something when he is by me, but I never do. Then when he walks away I'm like I should have said something. I want him to talk to me first. Like a couple weeks ago he needed the notes. He asked everyone around us except for me. I kept hoping he would ask me. I could feel him looking at me like he wanted to. I was just about to offer him the notes when he got up and walked to the other side of the room to ask someone else. After that I was like does he like me and is scared to ask me or does he hate me and would rather go ask someone else.He just confuses me so badly.Some days like today he didn't look at me or any thing. Then some days I can just feel him staring at me and everywhere I look there he is. Then he has this friend that I have had in at least one class every semester since freshman year. He never spoke to me until this year.I want to just go up to him at talk to him so bad, but I would much rather prefer that he comes and talks to me. He gets me so mad. I just want to know why he would have such a problem talking to me. No other guy has that problem. I'm going crazy over this one guy which is something I have never done before. Thanks for the help you've given me. I just need to get this all out. |

sounds like he likes you and is just as nervous to talk to you as you are to talk to him. you're gonna have to find some way to get the courage to talk to him, and if you can't do that, at least give him a smile when you catch him looking at you. he prob has no idea that you like him, you gotta somehow let him know you're interested. are you guys in any clubs? can you run into him at his locker after school and see if he's alone and then maybe he'll say something to you... or if you can find out what he likes or what you have in common you could use that to your advantage. like, if you know he likes a certain band, you could bring that cd to school and make sure he notices you have it. or if he likes sports, talk about sports in front of him. ok maybe i should stop giving advice, am i sounding like i have too much experience with this? lol
