General Manager Brian Sabean quieted speculation the San Francisco Giants would deal for Chicago White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye(notes) or Cleveland Indians slugger Victor Martinez(notes), saying both names were "pie in the sky," according to the San Jose Mercury News.
"The second player you're talking about "... even though (the Indians) are going nowhere, it would take a (Madison) Bumgarner-plus type of blockbuster deal," Sabean said. "And that's not going to happen because we're not going to trade Bumgarner."
Sabean also said that he hopes to promote scalding-hot John Bowker(notes) from Triple-A Fresno shortly.

ahhh i really hope they dont trade victor!!! im gonna bee sooo pissed if they do its really not worth anyone else he is the best hitter on the team i really dont understand whyy they would trade him i really want there general manager mark shaipiro to goo!!

I will go into depression if they get rid of Victor. I'm not even kidding! This speak has been making me sick & I hate even hearing about it. If they make that trade I really don't know what I'm going to do. Why?? Why would they trade there best player as of now!?? Have they lost there friggen minds?? I can't even speak on this subject anymore. It ticks me off soo much!!

no way are they trading Victor or Cliff. the team would become a rebuilding team if they did that. these rumors are irritating. just gotta turn a blind eye to em basically

Ughhhh. They can stop the stupid rumors before they give me a friggen heart attack. Every time I hear something about one of those guys being traded I wanna kill someone. You can't just trade those two, they worked hard for what they made HERE in CLEVELAND!!!

Yea I wondered the same thing, but it's always a bummer with these guys!! Come on Victor, put on for Cleveland! I'm proud of him & more than likely would have rioted if he didn't make the team. Congrats!!!!
It's so sad that G will not be at the All Star Game or the Home Run Derby...Kinda freaky actually!

I'll be watching it just because it has been a tradition in my house since I was a tot. Not that I'll enjoy watching it, but I'll be watching!! Wish G was there. ;(

Last year was AWESOME. I really enjoyed it last year!! I'm sad that he will not be present, but I do understand why he was not voted in this year. Although I want to be really mad there I know exactly why he will not be there. All I can ask is that he gets better...REALLLLLL soon!!

if the Tribe gets rid of their best players then they are straight up stupid. if they become a top-to-bottom rebuilding team, we'll be fans of a losing team for years to come. we'll hit Browns status lol but don't matter to me cause i'm a TRIBE fan always, no matter who's on the team.

I thought we already went through one of those top-to-bottom rebuilds.. YEARS ago!! You know right about the time that we got Cliff Lee & Grady Sizemore... HELLOO!!!???? What are you thinking?? Do you want good/proven players or do you want beginners that you have to train! Please make the right decision this time management!
