From the wires:

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland center fielder Grady Sizemore was not in the starting lineup Sunday after rolling his ankle while running the bases in the Indians' win over the New York Yankees a day earlier.
Sizemore, who has played in a major league-high 382 consecutive games, stepped awkwardly on second base during the ninth inning. He stayed in the game, and scored the winning run on Victor Martinez's bases-loaded single.
Sizemore's ankle was sore and swollen Sunday. He tried to run on it and took batting practice before manager Eric Wedge decided to rest the All-Star.
Wedge said X-rays were not necessary and that Sizemore would be available to come off the bench.

That's good to hear that they don't think it's serious.  It makes me worried still...don't like to see anyone go down with any kind of injury.  I better Jeter tried hitting on Grady and that's why he took his eye off the bag and awkwardly stepped on it....that darn Jeter!!!!

Heres the full story from the indians website:

CLEVELAND -- Grady Sizemore played through many a bump and bruise en route to playing in 382 consecutive games.
But the sprained right ankle he suffered Saturday got the best of him.

Sizemore's streak, which had been the longest active one in the big leagues, came to an unceremonious end Sunday. Franklin Gutierrez took over in center field and David Dellucci filled the leadoff spot for the Indians, and manager Eric Wedge never felt he had reason to insert Sizemore into the game as a pinch-hitter.

"It's tough when you're sidelined because of injury," said Sizemore, who missed a game for the first time since Aug. 22, 2005, and is now listed as day to day. "You never want to be getting treatment while the guys are playing. It's tough when you're an everyday player and you have to sit and watch."

Baseball's new reigning everyday go-getter is the Braves' Jeff Francoeur, who played in his 351st straight game Sunday. Sizemore had seized the title from the Dodgers' Juan Pierre, whose streak of 434 games came to a halt on Opening Day.

Sizemore's streak was the longest by an Indians player since Toby Harrah played in 473 straight from 1979-83.

Wedge said the streak was never prolonged for the sake of prolonging it.

"We have the luxury of knowing Grady's out there playing for all the right reasons," Wedge said. "We never had one discussion about it."

But Wedge and Sizemore did have to have a discussion Sunday morning. Sizemore was able to remain in Saturday's game after suffering the sprain while stepping awkwardly on second base. He was looked over by team trainer Lonnie Soloff for a few minutes and did a quick test sprint in the outfield grass, drawing a roar from the Progressive Field crowd. He later scored the game's winning run.

On Sunday morning, however, Sizemore's ankle did not respond as well as he hoped it would to pregame agility tests and batting practice.

"It hurt," Sizemore said. "It didn't feel good."

The Indians hope it will feel good enough Monday to have Sizemore back in the lineup for the series finale with the Yanks.

Needing outfield insurance for Sunday's game, the Indians promoted Brad Snyder from Triple-A Buffalo and optioned Saturday's starter, Jeremy Sowers, back down to the Bisons. Snyder is likely to head right back to Buffalo on Monday when left-hander Aaron Laffey is called up to fill the vacant spot in the rotation.

Sizemore had been out of the starting lineup six previous times during the streak, but he ended up in the game as a pinch-hitter or defensive replacement in each of those.

It's very sad to see his consecutive streak broken.  Sad   I was really rooting for him.  I was worried when I saw him on TV last night though.  I guess he'll just have to start a new one once his ankle heals

Yeah it was best, we don't want him to get a serious injury and he's out for a month or something like that...

Yeah. So I mean, it was smart, though slightly disappointing for the fans and for Grady I'm sure..but oh well, you play a sport, you risk getting an injury..ya know?

Yeah, I would rather see him miss 1 game then be out for weeks.  My favorite pitcher is out already, I don't want Grady to miss a few games.  I think it's better for Grady and the Indians for him to be 100%.  If the Tribe plays like this when they are missing the Grady cornerstone, I don't want to think about what will happen if he's out for a prolonged period of time.  YIKES!

Yepperz!  I finally decided that Jakey was my favorite pitcher this year.  Now I have to wait till he comes back.  I was very happy that he was the first pitcher on our team to pitch a complete game.  I'm just glad that you didn't suggest JoBo.  I never really can trust him.

That's so cute. I liked him a lot last year along with Raffie Right, but now I'm almost all bullpen.. minus Sowers.. hahaah. Aw well, I think JoBo is a cutie, and I've always really liked him, but he does make me nervous..Rolling Eyes if you look at his saves, yeah they're great and all, but look at the teams he saved AGAINST, ya know? Sad Poor Joe.. I like Betancourt as our closer anyways..I'm happy..haha.
