A week may be too tight, but the end of this month?
Ehm... It's midday now, right, in the playing threads? If there was any way we could like skip the afternoon during this day, then we'd shorten it down some. I'm not talking about perhaps skipping all of it, but perhaps have a character mention that hours pass and the sun is setting, or whatever? To me it seems that the evening of the current day in the playing threads is one that if it had been a true episode on the show, then they'd use the evening a lot. Long slow-mo shots with music in the background, characters talking by campfires, people mourning the loss of other people; all of that. So much has happened during the day so that rounding it all up during the evening seems very show-like.
But of course, this isn't the show, and this is a RP, where a more detailed account is implemented. Having said that, I would also like to attest to that we have no whip on our backs for us to write out every single second of the day for the characters, and in all honesty and as a personal opinion, I think it would be more in tune with the show to leave some time-spaces out; even though this is a RP, IMO, not writing every single thing out just makes a character and thus the whole RP more interesting.
But these are just my thoughts and suggestions; my input. Anyone is welcome to have thoughts on it. |

i totally agree with jess, give it a bit of a space between twilight and night where everyone can just chill and gain their bearings _________________

I agree it's too soon for a next day, but skipping part of the day would be good. If we want all characters to move to a later part of the day I suppose we should do it the same way as a next day. Set a deadline to finish one particular scene and then one of the flight crew members posts an "evening" -note or something of the like in TS and FS thread (that is if both threads move on simultaneously). _________________

All sounds good to me, Z. Now we just need to set a date for that, any suggestions? (I just love how many I'm coming up with myself, lol)
And to me, it seems that the FS is in more dire need of this time-jump than the TS, but perhaps it would be better to move both together? |

I think it's be easier for us if both threads jump at the same time; so we don't get confused
As for a date: end of the week, beginning of next week? _________________

well yea both threads will go at the same time. and i think a week might be too soon. a month seems a bit long though. so i'm voting for two weeks. three at the most
i'd say two if we do the thing jess suggested, skipping some afternoon hours. also, i think that one character on each thread could just sorta mention it in their post. Then everyone else will follow suit, like they do with rain and such. Um, also, I'd like to put a boldfaced dealie up like we usually do for next day, just not as big.
love if more members would jump in on this convo.... _________________

Yeah, we were purely disussing the skipping to afternoon idea, not to next day I said end of this week, you say two weeks from now. Anyone else? _________________

I may be misunderstanding it all, but if we're talking about switching into evening I say we could do it at the beginning of this week to meet all the suggestions in the middle, like next Wednesday?
So we're just going to have a character mention it in a post, plus put a bold note in said characters post? I'm confused, lol! |

no the bold note before just saying "x amount hours past" or "night"
then they can post and just try to bring it up. okay, yea, what you're saing makes more sense _________________

I'm cool with like next week sometime, in say a week, or next weekend. How about we play it by ear? _________________

As always, I'm cool with whatever. I like the idea of the time thing though - so like Lauren, we should play it by ear? _________________

another question. it was just announced on lost that they have been on the island for 69 days. should we just keep up with that in our RP as well? not that that is how many days we are at in our time, but it would just be easy and we could stick with it if the question of "what day are we on" ever pops up again.
plus we can put up "day *number*" whatever every time we post next day so we can stick with it _________________

I like the suggestion of sticking to a day number, and adding days to that. You're right, our guys haven't been on the island for 69 days, but somehow I feel it would be the most effortless thing to do and stick with.
And for the evening thing, someone just pick a day already so we can stick to that, lol! |

I like the idea of a day number. I actually needed a specific day in a previous post but failed to come up with the right figure. 69 sounds good enough.
As for going to the evening in the threads, I don't know if playing by ear will work. If anyone of us is MIA and the others think it could be a right moment for the time change it could really screw over that 1 person.
And Erin, great job on the new thread. I have to reread all the stuff again to make it sink in, but it sounds like an excellent summary of plans formed so far. _________________

Okay guys, regarding the shift into Evening that has been discussed -- it's happening on Thursday US time, no exact time specified, but probably during the day.
Next Day won't be for another while to come, (it has been discussed the ends of this month, but nothing is set in stone) so use this evening for excellent RP. Party on, dudes! |

I'd like to specify a more exact time, just so we have something to count on. I know for myself I won't be online much tomorrow or Wednesday (as it seems now), so if there's need for me to post I most likely write it out by hand and quickly type it out whenever I get a chance on Thursday.
Maybe we could just say it won't happen before Thursday 6pm GMT? That's 2pm here (around the same time for Erin?), 7pm in England and I am sorry guys, no clue what it is in Aussie land... If this doesn't work, suggest something else I just like a better guideline than "On Thursday" (esp. with Thursday being really long with all the different time zones we're in). _________________

Sorry guys, I said I'd post today, but this morning I realised its Tuesday and not Wednesday, meaning I can't post tonight because (or probably wont be able to) Coz I'm at the theatre.
If I get back at 10 I'll post. As long as I'm not tired.
And that time switch sounds good to me also. _________________

Erin or Amy, quick question -- should anyone post in the TS before Kate and Sawyer makes their entrance, or should they be allowed to enter first? What's the smoothest? |
