I'm sure most of you noticed, but we had a short crash the other day. This wasn't just normal server issues, someone at FreePowerBoards (an IT guy) maliciously brought down two of their servers. I just talked to them on AIM and they instantly brought us back up and running--BUT we lost (up to) 18 days worth of stuff. fortunately it doesn't seem we've missed -too many- posts, but honestly i'm not the person who can tell that well. we also lost a few new users in this mix up  .
sorry this happened guys. FPB is doing a 'lotto' and giving out free domain names and stuff to certain boards, so maybe we can get something good out of this.

i know there were a few more issues, but they seem mostly resolved now. if anyone sees anymore, please give me a heads up. also, if anyone has saved any posts that are now gone--please PM them to me otherwise i'll try to summarize what happened in the missing posts as soon as i can.

I have all my roleplay posts saved too. But not everyone's. I think Jess may have saved the latest FS thread page about a week ago, maybe. I'll see if I can find it.

Eep, that's most unfortunate Ann.
Can anyone do a summary of everything that's happened lately on the threads? I would, but I'm ashamed to say that I hadn't read several of the most recent posts before the board crashed. Not only that, but I'd barely been posting.

Whoa guys -- this all really honestly sucks. But I guess you know all about that, huh?
Anyways, Lauren is kinda right. I did save the FS thread, but that was before she and I went to Adelaide, so some time about a week ago? Something like that. But it won't do much good right now, considering I haven't got my laptop yet.
I hope you guys manage to sort the most of this out. Perhaps you could each post all of the posts that were deleted and you still have on your own respective computer, then re-post them into the playing threads?

I'm posting this here because I figured Ann would want to know that I'm posting it.
I had this post photographed. Sounds weird, I know, but while Jess and I were in Adelaide we only had access to a crappy computer without a USB port. And Jess wanted to reply to the Ford post, so I told her to take photos of it and then she could read and reply to it later. So I found the pics, typed it up, and viola! One post recovered. I wish I'd taken photos of the Jack post, though.

Ford’s mouth twisted into a grin as she raised the bottle, and it remained when Jessica tipped forward to kiss him, champagne passing from her lips to his. If this was some sort of preview – well, he liked it better than the featured presentation already. He accepted the bottle, and held just the very top between his pointer and middle fingers, paused in the midst of her question. What were they celebrating? Why were they celebrating? And what, on the other side ( for there was already a very blatant reason just down the beach) should they not be celebrating? He was looking too deeply into this. The asking had been simple, so couldn’t the answer be, too? He grinned for her, because without her he probably wouldn’t remember how…because without her wouldn’t have much to grin for. Ford lived for the second (third, forth, fifth) chances.
“…Time.” He grasped the bottle with both hands for a moment, closing his eyes downwards to the sand for a moment before quirking a playful eyebrow in Jessica’s direction. “Cheers.”
The liquid hit his throat and Ford remembered with a jolt of clarity that he hadn’t had a drink in…over two years. The hospitals certainly hadn’t allowed alcohol, and his fix of choice came in packs, not ounces; it had been a bit more pressing for that, than this. With a mental shrug, Ford swallowed the remaining sweet, tepid bubbly in his mouth, and felt the instant absorption that hit his empty stomach. Okay, so they went for food and found a plane crash… more specifically champagne. Close enough, right? Sure. Without a glance to the sand, he pushed the bottom half of the bottle in the giving beach, mostly just to keep it upright. He took without a thought Jessica’s hand, and then shook his head slightly, accompanied with a quiet laugh. “I really can’t dance, though,” a light protest spoken, without a single physical resistance to her touch; how could he defy that?
(It wasn’t possible.)
The radio rose and fell in static, volume; the waves crept up the beach, but Ford didn’t notice. Jessica folded herself into his chest, and he took extra care to envelope the protection of her shoulder. His neck tilted down slightly so that their foreheads could touch; an unobstructed view down into her eyes, irises set against dark eyelashes and skin that had soaked in the sun’s glow. His hands wrapped around at her lower back, slight swaying to the quiet music. If this was dancing, Ford had missed out. He had a feeling, though, that he’d just gotten lucky. Oh, so lucky.
“Well, thanks,” he said with a flash of a smile, timbre low, Jessica moved to twine her fingers in his hair, an action that Ford recognized with savory memory. Coupled with another question – another answer that was obviously simple but starkly important. Are you where you want to be?” He blinked a few times, trying to catch and articulate that. He drew a hand over her spine, brushing to a rest at the base of her neck.
“Without the crash…” he hesitated, recollecting his answer. It was true; without 815 there would be none of this. So odd to think… He was getting heady from the champagne. “Yes. Yeah, I am.” The constant grin. A song on the radio was changing, the commercials in a language he didn’t recognize. From the base of her neck, Ford traced Jessica’s jaw line, and he caught another kiss as if to remind, those are mine.
“Same question.”
