Hello friends, it's been a looooong time since I've logged in. So much has happened...but first, I have to say thanks to
hippi for including me in the list of "
cool kids."
Yesterday I received a postcard in the mail from "WorldWinner.com" wanting me to sign up to play "Beat the Banker." Well now, who does that remind you of? Three guesses....and the first two.....anyway, that made me realize I haven't been here for many months, and it was high time to check in. (And I'm still Googling "WordWinner.com.")
Most of my absence can be explained with the following: I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2009. After a bunch of tests and a biopsy, I had a unilateral mastectomy in mid-June, and also had tissue expanders put in for breast reconstruction. Then in August we made weekly out-of-town trips to get saline 'fills' to expand the tissue - this process wasn't completed until Nov. 10. And now, I'm patiently (well, not so much) waiting for my exchange surgery, probably mid-March 2010, when the expander comes out and the permanent implant is put in. I was lucky that the cancer was caught very early and I didn't have to have chemo or radiation. So, that has been my life pretty much 75% or more of this year and I really never even thought about Netwinner or its scallywags during this time.
WHEW!!! Ladies, get your mammograms and pay no attention to the screwy new mammo recommendations!
My new hangout is Facebook -- please send me a message here if you want to be my FB friend! I was addicted to Farm Town (FB game), although I got a little burned out on it, so now I play Farkle and Bejeweled there. (Bejeweled is addicting!) I also have been hanging out at
breastcancer.org, but as you might guess, this site has rather a rather limited focus. If you know anyone with breast cancer, though, I can very highly recommend the knowledge base and the community forum there. I have lost interest in Gather.com --- there is too much of an 'undercurrent' there for me, or was, about 4-5 months ago or so.
Hope everyone else is doing well!! would love to hear updates on y'all!
