I see in the chat room a repeating message that says that BT is gone made by BT Help. So it looks like we're screwed again and this time without even a reach around

And all the regulars in the chat room go on and on as if nothing has happened. Talked about weird............

Mention filing with BBB and they all think you're the one with the problem.

At least I saw acsfl and knothead in there for the FIRST but probably LAST time. (Did you by any chance see TravelerJohn in there? He never did say anything - no defending the great site tonight).

Becky has posted on her site an e-mail response from "Mr. Peddicord", BoomerTowner founder to her email inquiring about the future of BoomerTowne:
*****************************************************************************************************************************************
RE: Saddened by the news about BT -- a response if you could, please?
Sunday, September 21, 2008 4:37 PM
From: "buzz peddicord"
To: comparerewards@yahoo.com

Unfortunately illness, economic downturn, and mass cheating drove the company bankrupt. Several millions were lost by investors and even though we tried to sell and raise capitol, the lousy economy made that impossible. The investors including me lost millions of dollars trying to build a real community. When the economy went south companies quit advertising and income dropped to 10 percent of what it had reached. That combined with mass point cheating made it impossible to go on. No site that offers rewards will succeed as long as people devote so much time trying to beat the system. It tells you something about our society.
***************************************************************************************************************************************************
Wow! does any of this sound familiar? Becky then submitted an excellent reply. It's long, so I'll post the link:

Good gosh, blame cheating again. When you don't have a solid business plan and enough capital up-front, blame the victims when you inevitably fail.

You think after NL used the "cheaters" excuse, BT would and could come up with something besides that one.

It's just a sickening situation ............... again!!!

I am SO glad I didn't go there seriously to get money. I was hesitant because of the NW thing, and thank God I was. I only had I think 21,ooo or something points. I only logged long enough to approve friends and check out the discussion boards. And play some of the games like treasure hunt and the crosswords. But not for points. I am just sorry that this happened AGAIN to you guys. I hate it...it sucks beans. Geez...

it isn't gone, if you use that link you posted yesterday for chat rooms you can get to everything except discussion boards from there

how could he and his partners have lost millions of dollars on that site? they quit paying out months ago (well, except for a couple of cards a month sent out to keep us clicking and hoping) and still collected ad revenues

shame on you herschel peddicord, i hope your yacht sinks and the rest of your empire crumbles into dust, you lied to us and let us believe you were one of the good guys, and you have the nerve to talk about cheaters, you cheated thousands of people out of what we earned fair and square

Man, I was hoping against hope for months that they'd come through. They owed me $225 Visa and $100 Target GC. I was going to use those for my kids Christmas. It's going to be a slim christmas this year. Heating is just so expensive even when we keep our thermostat at 65 degrees and wear sweaters inside all winter.

Well, I just filed with the BBB of Wisconsin. Since, as acsfl said, BT didn't even send an email, I wonder if they'll respond to the BBB.

Now on to the AG of Wisconsin - arrrrggghhhh :x .

Reading the comments on CompareRewards gets me crazy - people are so apathetic (or is it dumb???) to not even be upset with the situation and to just accept whatever is handed to them! Compare Rewards (Becky) - you are the best!! You're always right on top of every situation and we owe you such a debt of gratitude. Thank you sooooo much!

And also, to all you guys here at TOF - we need to keep up the good fight!!

I feel so bad for any and all of you who have now been scammed by BoomerTowne! UGH!!!

Becky posted some great suggestions on my Gather article about this:
"How to Get Rich Quick on the 'Net (aka The Golden Parachute Floats the Net)". If any of you are on Gather, my username is Patty B.

I have really been posting comments wherever I can there when there's discussion about BT. I'm strongly encouraging people to take action, even if it's only filing a BBB complaint.

I haven't found MahJong yet, but I did find lucky letters and a good jigsaw puzzle. I'll spend some time today trying to track down MahJong for you. For now here are the links for the two I mentioned.

Yes it does Penny. I'm sorry that happened to you but you know what? I'm glad you filed. When you file like that the complaint stays with the company, it's owners and it's officers for a very long time. Good for you for doing the right thing.
