I wrote this right after the AI Fresno concert in July; since I just joined here, I thought I'd share it. It's more about before and after the show than during. Hope it still makes sense. BTW, I went into the AI concerts being gaga for Blake but ended up falling for Chris in the process. Since this was my first of 3 shows, it's still kind of Blake centered.
AI6 concert - Fresno 7-20-07
So I went to the first of my three AI6 concerts on Friday night, and I made a few friends...
We met Jordin and Melinda too, but my camera battery had died so we didn't get pix. Phil came out around 4:15 in the afternoon, and I gave him my bday present for Blake since I didn't know if he'd ever come out himself. Then about an hour later, he did! I asked Blake if he got his present, and he said no, so Lord knows what Phil did with it. Hopefully it was in the bus and he just hadn't seen it yet. I was surprised that Blake was really soft spoken. He was practically whispering, completely the opposite of when we'd seen him at Idol. Debi asked about his cd, and he said that he has 6 songs done and that he's aiming for it to come out the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. (this is probably common knowledge for die hard Blakers) He took pix and signed stuff for everyone -- only about a dozen people. Then he rode away on a skateboard. lol
After the show security was being a pain. They kept telling people to leave, but then they wouldn't enforce it and everyone would just come back. After about 20-30 minutes of the back and forth stuff with security, Chris R and Phil came out to meet the fans. Chris said he does it every night and that usually he and Blake come out "in the morning" when they first get to the venue. He was very chatty. Debi asked him about his cd, and he said that it's halfway done and he's still aiming for his bday (February). We talked about Summerfest really briefly, and I thanked him for being so gracious with his time. He said that the fans are everything -- they're the ones who are going to buy the music, so why not take a few minutes to meet them? Ace trained him well! Phil seemed really chatty too. He stayed out and talked to fans for a long time, but we were more interested in Chris so we didn't hang near him. Blake was the next to come out, and again he was really quiet. He "refused" to take pictures, saying that it would take too long and then everyone would want one. Hmmm, all of the other Idols were taking pictures, so why couldn't he? Weird. Debi thinks he's become a diva. Jordin and Melinda then came out together and were very, very sweet to everyone. Melinda finished before Jordin, but she waited for J to finish so they could walk (well, skip/run was more like it) back to the bus together. They were cute. Everyone -- with the exception of Blake -- took the time to meet all of the fans (maybe 50ish), made sure everyone got pictures and autographs who wanted them, and said goodbye to the crowd before they left. Blake was polite but could have been more personable. I didn't even know he had left until I turned around and Jordin was standing where he had been. Either he didn't say goodbye like the others, or I was too distracted talking to Chris.
I took about 200 pix before, during, and after the concert. [they're posted in the concert pix forum] The show was really fun, with the exception of Sanjaya's ridiculous Michael Jackson bit. Definitely not enough Cake IMO -- their set together seemed really short (probably just my perception) and they hardly ever stood next to each other. Frustrating! In between our Phil and Blake encounters in the afternoon, we had scored 5th row tickets at the box office, which ended up being next to where the stage sticks out into the audience, so we were practically parallel with the edge of the stage. VERY good seats but tough to take pix because we were almost too close. I deleted nearly 100 because they were blurry -- those Idols move around A LOT!

Great review niner - Man, our boy - as gracious and polite as ever! He LOVES his fans just as much as we LOVE him - daggone can he get any sweeter??!!!

*blushing* Thank you. I think his eyes are actually much lighter than mine, but in the pic they look the same. Go figure.
Cute story re: that pic of me with Chris... when I showed it to him a few days later, he said something like, "Whoa, your eyes are all big and excited." (I have an awful tendency to do that  bug eye thing in pix) I kind of rolled my eyes in a self deprecating way, and he smiles and goes, "No, I like it." I was pretty much speechless after that.

ya know niner i am glad others commented cause I was thinking to myself that you and Chris have the same gorgeous eyes! You look like you could be related in that picture! And thanks for sharing the details! I am glad to see that my sweeties Chris,phil melinda are taking their fans to heart! so important to a fan!

Jealous! I went to that show, and we waited all day, we got Phil, but then we left! and after security was being mean so we just headed back, we had a long drive anyways.
I was wearing my awesome chris shirt that day too haha!
