Whats your opinion on Blake's CD?
i think its pretty good i mean some of his songs the beats are great and some of the lyrics are great as well. Sounds like Michael Jackson style sorta...
idk i maybe really Deaf..

Well, I can admit that I suffered through the entire CD to give an honest opinion, I mean suffered.  .
Blake fans please forgive, but he cannot sing. It was kinda like nails down a blackboard. I cringed 90% of the way through.
I do not think the rebirth of 80's influenced music/noise will prevail.
At least I hope not.
Please, no throwing things at me.  |

i listened to it today at my job which is a daycare so i didnt really hear everything but i like most of the parts i have heard. some of the slower songs i am not sure on yet.

I'm not impressed with it at all! I liked maybe 3 of the songs, but truthfully most of the CD sounds the same and it annoyed me. I'd never waste money buying it

yea some f it did sound bad and old slow parts are boring i liked only 3 songs on it.. Break anotha, Know my Name, Watcha got to lose not cause Chris co wrote it cause of the beat

I'm just not a fan of Blake's voice, enjoy the beatboxing... sometimes... but it gets old fast.
The album isn't impressive overall, I agree with most of you... there's a few songs I "like" but I'm glad I didn't buy it. Some of the lyrics are pretty good but the songs sound too much alike and his voice is just irritating.
I enjoy Jordin's album MUCH more!

So I gave it another chance on my way to work this morning and I felt as if I should be back in the 80's in a craptastical bar rolling on X and trippin on acid 
It's his voice, if someone else was singing a few of those songs... I think I would have liked them a little more. Someone is getting ADD for Christmas

The album has really been constructed to be listen to from start to finish. At least for the very first time you listen to it. It makes sense, it flows well.
I won't gush about the album here, you all know I'm a big Blake fan. Let's just say that I really love it, except one song that I am kinda meh on.
As for Whatcha Got 2 Loose - when I heard the 30 second snippet, I was disappointed because I didn't like it.... But once I listened to the whole song, Oh WOW, I loved it. It's great. Not really what I expected of a C Rich/B Lewis collab, but still, I was impressed.
And for those of you who have not already - buy the album on itunes. There is a bonus track called Human, only available through itunes. It's another C Rich/ B Lewis collab, and it is even better than WYG2L, IMO. I have no idea why that song didn't make the album! It's catchy, great lyrics, awesome all around.
Finally - while I love almost all kinds of music, from ska to country to sappy ballads to heavy metal, I am more of a rocker chick. Blake's music is not what I usually listen to. Still, I absolutely love it. I think that's very telling! |

Thanks for that comment, Venona. While taste are totally subjective, and one good voice can make someone melt and leave the next one totally cold, I am really tired of people dissing Blake for his voice (I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, just saying this in general). He is no Pavarotti, for sure.... But he can sing. He sings in tune and has a really good range. Now the tone of his voice might not be pleasant to every ear, I recognize that. But I really wish people would stop saying he can't sing! Because that is simply not true. |

no blake can sing..buts it is the type of music a singers voice needs to get attached atleast thats what i say some have voices that go with all kinds of genres and some that stick with one. Nothing bad. Like at the concert when blake sang... 'She will be loved" it was great! i absolutly loved it! Imagine that in a deeper voice...
