Okay, so I wake up to my country music station as my alarm every morning and imagine my surprise when I wake up this morning to Phil! No, not singing, but in the station talking to everybody.  I forgot, he was supposedly in town and there was some Idol watch party with him Tues. night. So anyhoo, I jump up and run to my comp to find the number of the station. Call in and tell the girl who answers I just wanna talk to Phil and thank him for being so great with his fans the couple times I met him over the summer. And she's all "Um...ooookaaaayyy..well they're about to close the show but I'll see what I can do...." So it didn't sound to promising and I'm already running late for work but whatever. So I wait on hold for like 5-10 minutes (and when you're on hold they put the show on so you can still be listening-never knew this, I've never called into a radio station before) And anyhoo, out of nowhere they're all "Ok, let's go to Kelly." No warning, just, hey Kelly! So I get really really nervous but I'd been trying to come up with a whole schpiel (sp?) while on hold so I just break into it.
Radio guys: Hey Kelly
Me: Wow, hey! Hey everybody! Hey Phil!
Phil: Hey!
Me: I just wanted to call in and thank Phil for how great he is with his fans. I met him a few times last summer at the American Idol tour.
Phil: Woo!
Me: Haha, yea, I kind of jumped out at you when you poked your head out the gate at the MO State Fair and you actually stopped and talked to some of us for a little bit and took some pictures. It was great, we really appreciated it.
Phil: (forget exactly what he said here, but he laughed at me when I mentioned how I jumped out at him)
Me: And met you again in Hampton, VA for Chris Richardson's hometown show. You were really great there too. Actually, I'm part of an online fan group called the Richness developed in support of Chris Richardson. But we have several people on there who love Phil too. And we love our Cake with Philling.
Phil: Woo! (laughing)
Me: Really love the new single too, I play it all the time (ok...so really I play All Alone all the time and then Phil's song starts playing and I go back and listen to All Alone, but I do listen to Phil's song sometimes too, and I got really excited the other day when I heard it on the radio!)
Phil: Thank you so much!
Radio guy: Do you wanna hear it more?
Me: Yes! Of course I do!
Radio guy: Then send us some money! (lots of laughter)
Me: Hahaha, well anyway, I just wanted to say hi to Phil and thank him for being so understanding and great with his fans.
Radio people and Phil: Aw, thanks for calling, Kelly!
So I get off the phone and run to my radio to hear the tail end of it (hate hate hate my voice! Gah! I sound like I'm about 5) Anyhoo, and they get off the phone with me laughing and are talking about how I really knew what I wanted to say (i swear, I was talking a mile a minute, probably said more than I just wrote here, but I was really really nervous!) And Phils says: Aw, I like Kelly. I remember Kelly actually, I really do. And the radio guys are like "really?" And he says, "Yea of course, we go way back."
So anyhoo, sorry, that was really long, but I got really nervous and really excited for some reason. I'm now telling everyone at work I'm famous because I was on the radio this morning (and that's why I was late, haha) and that Phil Stacy knows me. Its funny, I was never nervous at all when I was in person talking with the Idols, heck, I can even grab Chris' arm when he's walking through a club, but you put me on the radio and I freak! And I had completely meant to mention something about Amanda and I got so nervous and was thrown so off guard that I didn't manage to get it in there.  Sorry guys! I did remember to give a Richness plug tho! Phil did seem excited, or laughed or something, when I mentioned the Richness.

Haha!!! Sweet Nurse!
Oh, I have a helpful hint for anyone else who calls a radio station. If you want to record it and you have the brand new RealPlayer with the record feature, you can log onto your radio station's streaming audio and record it! My bff who's a singer was on the radio last Saturday promoting her single and I recorded her. She even gave me a shout out!

 Kelly  good for you!! well done on getting a RICHNESS shoutout - and no worries about Amanda, cuz if peeps come to THE RICHNESS cuz of your shout out, they'll be sure to hear about Amanda here. I know what you mean about hearing yourself on the radio - remember when I was on Energy Radio and Joe Fu asked me how I felt about sitting in the chair that Chris would soon be sitting in - yeah   talk about making a fool of oneself!!
I LOVE that Phil said you and he go way back - something you're not telling us Kell???  Tooooo cute - loved it!!!

Hey Kelly Congrats girl!! Way to plug the Richness!!!
I actually got some time this morning with Keith Stacey Phils brother!! What a funny guy he is!! Anyhow he was going to talk to Phil today and give him my update!! He has been praying right along for Amanda! Amanda used to go sometimes to Keiths church and Keith had a birthday party for Amanda back in September so they got to know eachother! Anyhow He wants me to keep him up to date and he will get all the info to phil!! He is aware amanda has Phils hat and it was funny cause the whole family that week 16 when Phil came out singing that Lee Anne Rhimes song wearing that hat thought OMG "he looks like Hannibal Lector" hehe! Phil hated it too but LOVE the idea that charity and then Amanda benefited from it and now its "special " to him!!
Thanks again nurse just thought I'd share!

 Meames...yea me and Phil, we got some history! Haha, well...he is from Kansas....
Ooh Jan, now I really wish I had mentioned something! But that might have been a little bit awkward for the radio when I think about it more, better in a more personal setting...seriously, if me and Phil were so close we should have gone for lunch today or something... Good to hear about his brother, Jan! You're just close personal friends with all the Idols' families, aren't you?

This was the best post ever! 
1. You have a great voice, Kell so knock it off!
2. AWESOME job plugging The Richness
3. Cake with Philling Love how you thought to actually say that!
4. at how you recapped listening to Phil's single because I can TOTES picture that!

So I just was looking around on ticketmaster for upcoming shows, etc. since I've been all concert happy lately (went to a free Billy Currington concert in the Power and Light District Thu- it was great!) and I happen to notice that Phil is going to be at Worlds of Fun (our KC amusement park) July 5th. Which is odd...I didn't even know Worlds of Fun had concerts! So maybe I should go since Phil and I are bffs.
