Greetings all! Cool

Well Tuesday night, Stephanie and I got the wild idea to go to Charlotte to see Chris while we watching Idol. It was a spur of the moment decision and a good one. We ran with it. We left for Charlotte from Chesapeake at about 6AM on Wednesday morning to ensure that we would have enough time to find the store and to account for traffic troubles.

We got to Charlotte around 12:30 and the area surrounding the store was beautiful. They had all kinds of shops and stores with everything from Ann Taylor loft to Target. We had NO trouble killing time! Haha

We walked over to Harris Teeter about 2:00 and had the opportunity to be the first ones in line. We didn't want to go first, so we let a group of four go in front of us. When he got there, he was wearing that DARN black hat and the black shirt that he had on when he was holding up the painting. The girls in front of us had their time with Chris, and then it was our turn!

I can't put into words the look he had on his face when he saw us. There was an immediate recognition and he started smiling from ear to ear. He said something like "Hey, what are you guys doing here? You drove all the way down here to see me?" He loved it.

We were able to spend a lot of time with him. We went through the line twice and talked about a lot of things. We were floored because somewhere in the conversation he said "So, are you all still teaching? Where do you teach?" We nearly fell over. It's those kind of details that he remembers that sets him about from the rest and makes you love and appreciate him all the more. He also remembered our names. When he went to sign my calendar, he wrote "Melissa" without me saying my name. I even said to him "OH, you remembered my name" and he smiled.

The woman that took the picture of the two of us together the first time didn't do the best job. It was all blurry but it gave us an excuse to get in line again. We went to the end of the line and went back up there. He didn't have a problem with that at all. He was reaching out to us telling us to come back there for another picture. We had a long and great day and we can't wait to see him again next week! Here is the good picture of the two of us with the "C-man" the second time through. It was really nice to see him and spend time with him after such a long time.

OMG!! You all are not going to believe what Melissa and I did. We were watching Idol on Tuesday night, and we started talking about going to Charlotte to see Chris. It is quite a drive. We left early yesterday morning and drove to Charlotte. I had found out a while back where he was going to be so we map quested it, and we were off and running. We arrived in Charlotte about 12:30 or so. What a beautiful area. Puts our shopping areas up here to shame!! It had every kind of store, shop, and restaurant you could possible want. High end boutiques, Target, Old Navy, etc. We had some lunch, and then did some walking around. At about 2 we decided to head on over to Harris Teeter. We did not want to be the first in line so we waited until 4 others got in line. I immediately looked for my Richness cards and realized I had taken them out before my trip to DC last week. Never fear. I just wrote the web page address down and gave it to everyone around. Never miss a chance to recruit new members ThumbsUp

Chris showed up about 3:05. OMG!! He looked amazing, as usual. However, he had on that Censored

black hat, but with it he was wearing the shirt he had on on the pics with the painting. That was good beause it allowed for lots of arm porn. The girls in front had their time with him, and then it was our turn.When he looked up and saw us he actually seemed excited. He said with a HUGE smile "Hey, what are you all doing here? You drove all the way down her to see me." You know I'm going to be home next week, right? He is such a sweetheart. We took some pics, and alot of them didn't turn out. Whoever was taking the pics must have moved the camera, but we did manage to get few.
He talked to us about alot of different things. I asked him if he had heard about Elliott's Mom and he hadn't. He was very sad. I also talked to him about the birthday card. I explained to him how it went all over the country to get the signatures. He didn't realize that. He loved the card and continued to talk about the painting. He really loves it. He told me that he had called Amanda and left 3 different voice mails. I told him about the laptop which he thought was a great idea. I also asked him about "All Alone" and the radio stations. He said that his manager had made some sort of CD, and that they had been shipped to 5000 major radio stations. He said to call any station that plays Top 40, so hopefully we will have them here soon. He did tell me that he had spoken with between 5 and 6 major labels, but they aren't willing to let him do what he wants to do. And we know he wants creative control. He is saying the CD should be out by summer's end.
We ended up getting in line twice since the pic of Melissa, and I didn't turn out. He was fine with that and actually asked us to come on back to have it retaken. I then asked him if he would sing to us. He said that the Edy's peeps don't like him bringing in his guitar but he did song "Tonight I Wanna Cry." acapella. It was beautiful. I almost wet my pants I was so excited. Drool

I can't remember everything that we talked about, but we probably had a good 30-40 minutes betwen the 2 times in line. He is so sweet, but we all know that.
It was exciting to know that he recognized us and knew our names. I don't know when it ever came up in any of our previous discussions about teaching, but he asked us both if we were still teaching and then asked where we taught.
Melissa is going to post a pic with both of us. I will try to post mine tomorrow. As we were walking away I sad "See you at Farm Fresh next week," and he just smiled.
It was a very long day yesterday. 12 hours of driving and I had to work. but to see Chris it was well worth it. I JUST ADORE THAT BOIII. Love

I have been feeling really low lately, and he sure gave me a pick me up. Haha

omg I think I saw you guys in line. Steff I recongnized your picture but I was liek i don't want to go up and say something and then have it not be her! That is so great that he remembers you guys so much. Hopefully I'll be able to meet him that many times so he remembers me as well. Love the picture

You probably did see us in line. We were up in front but then got in line again because our pic together didn't turn out. You should have talked to us. I was pimpin The Richness big time, writing down the address for peeps since I left all of my cards at home. He is a sweetheart though. I loved the pic with your son. Chris is great with kids!! Every time I have met him or ran in to him unexpectedly he has been so sweet and accomodating. Gotta love that boiiiii. Heart

I know I wish I had come to say hey. Next time if I see anyone I'll do it and if it's not who I think then too bad! I know I love how he was so polite. Nothing seemed to be a problem for him.

You do look familiar!! We have been fortunate in the number of times that we have been able to see Chris. The funny part is that we live so close to him and yet we hardly ever have any "sightings" here at home! I do appreciate the fact that when he does see us, he always makes us feel welcome.

One more thing and I can't believe I forgot this funny little detail. As we were leaving, there was a little girl in line that had just gotten a glimpse of Chris. She couldn't have been older than eight or nine. When she saw him, she said "OMG, he's even hotter on the outside!" I thought that was priceless.
