Sounds pretty boring to me

How stupid is it to sing "Please Don't Stop The Music" at the end of the show?
Exactly at the moment the music does stop.

I'm not surprised there are NO duets this year, it was evident from the group songs on the show that none of these people sing well together.
Actually, I don't think any of them even like each other.

Once again, I am living in the past.
There seems to be very little "present" from our boy.
The future, and the release of the cd are kind of like the horizon.....
No matter how hard or fast we go towards it....it just keeps moving out of reach

Anyway....here is the set list for this year's tour
kind of put me to Sleep

7/3: Idols Live tour reviews and set list
By Rodney Ho | Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 07:02 PM

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Last year, there were plenty of duets and trios and group sings. This year, just two group sings and all solo routines otherwise. Given the makeup of season seven, this makes perfect sense though I would have enjoyed a couple of cool duets, too.

A thumbs up from the Arizona Republic.

Livedaily said it surpassed expectations.

LA Times’ gushing behind the scenes look here.

Each singer did truly create a very authentic and compelling stage persona. The performers’ song choices defined their styles and highlighted the best of the vocal strengths.

Here’s the set list:

Chikezie: Donny Hathaway’s “I Believe To The Soul,” Usher’s “Caught Up” and John Legend’s “So High.”

Ramiele (snooze) Malubay: Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back,” Taylor Dayne’s “Love Will Lead You Back” and Maroon 5’s “If I Never See Your Face Again.” (How apropos!)

Michael Johns: Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” Dolly Parton’s “It’s all Wrong But It’s All Right” and Aerosmith’s “Dream On.”

Kristy Lee Cook: Carolyn Dawn Johnson’s “Squeezin’ the Love Outta You,” Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” and perhaps “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls” by George Strait (MJ and others just dubbed it “Cowgirls” so I’m not sure what it is.). Also, Wikipedia states she sings “Eight Days a Week.” I’ll fix this once I know for sure.

Carly Smithson: Evanescence “Bring Me To Life,” Heart’s “Crazy For You” and Cyndi Lauper’s “I Drove All Night.”

Brooke White: Beatles’ “Let It Be,” Feist’s “1-2-3-4,” Coldplay’s “Yellow.”

Group sing: U2’s “Pride.” Intermission.

Jason Castro: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Daydream.”

Syesha Mercado: Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” and Beyonce’s “Listen.”

David Archuleta: Robbie WIlliams’ “Angels,” One Republic’s “Apologize,” Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” and Josh Grobin’s “When You Say You Love Me.”

David Cook: Lionel Richie’s “Hello,” the single “Time of My Life,” Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing,” Foo Fighters’ “My Hero,” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”

Group sing finale: Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music.”

I think this year's format pretty much sucks. I have been to the Idols tour every year (minus season 1), and I thought last years format was the best by far. Now they have gone back to singing in the eliminatipn order. Boring and absolutely no fun. Last year's show was so upbeat and so much fun. Plus you didn't have to sit through 2 hours of solos and wait until the end to see the winner. Looks like DC and Archie won't be seen  until the very end. I am going to see it in Charlotte and sad to say, I'm not even looking forward to it.

I am a David Cook fan but I always skip the Idol Tour because I would rather see someone do some orignal songs.  I know there's 10 artists on the tour but you're right it does seem really boring!

I saw the last 2 years and agree last years format rocked! Kept the audience involved the entire time, got to see your artist lots throughout, instead of just one time. That is exactly what I did not like about Elliott's season. Not enough time throughout the concert to see him. You see him, then hes gone.

Yeah, im glad i am not going this year.

The show this year was boring, so I'm sure the concerts will be too.  I saw a video of fans with Jason castro waiting for the buses ya know - it just didn't seem to have the same buzz to it.  Confused

I'm going to the show in Charlotte with Melissa. The best thing will be if we get to have lunch with Pink. Once I saw the lineup from Venona I realized that I wasn't even excited about going. I have seen that format before and did not like it. Last year was the best format and not just because of Chris. It just moved better and I liked seeing everyone before the end of the show. It hasn't hurt ticket sales though. They are way up this year because of  DC and Archie.

Yep, I'll be in Charlotte with Steph. I was a huge David Cook fan this year so that and Archie will be the high points for me. From what I read, they make an effort to come out to the buses before and after just like last year. The format of the show is boring but I'm going to be optimistic and hope for meeting them at some point. *crosses fingers*

I just went to 2 shows this weekend. It was lame. No group numbers (well one), no duets blah! It's like a 2.5 hour opening act for Cook lol!!! I don't think sales are up, they just fixed the mistakes they made last year. Like LA was really full last night, but we didn't have 2 shows like usual. Vegas was moderately full, the top section was closed, and it was a very very small venue!

But everyone was good! and I met Cook, Brooke, and Syesha! I was so close! 4th row in Vegas.

Yea, I dunno what it is they seem less friendly with each other or something? I mean I met a bunch and they were all really nice and sweet, but the closeness doesn't come through. They obviously didn't fight to get group numbers or anything!

You could tell from the top 24 that there was no closeness or cohesiveness in this group. So sad. Sad  Sometimes I wonder if they even like each other.  shrug I'm glad Archie and DC are in it, because if not for them I wouldn't bother going. I do like Jason and MJ, but it sure would be nice to see the guys do some group numbers. I really could care less about the girls.

Well now I'm reading they had a whole bunch of group numbers planned. I wonder what happened.
