Thought I'd post updates on SweetConfections (Michelle) in here rather than the shoutbox....
SweetConfections is in Houston and suffered the wrath of Hurricane Ike this past weekend...she stayed in her home during the storm. They were told NOT to evacuate. She's about 60 miles north of Galveston. They are all OK just some trees down outside there home, but thankfully not ON the house.
She is STILL without power, but some friends from Oklahoma shipped them a generator on a compnay plane, so now she has a fridge, lights and a fan...bless her heart, it has to be awful without AC, but hey at least she still has her home.  Her baby is due on the 24th of this month. I have asked her if there is anything we can do for her, and she's very grateful, but is just trying to stay calm and comfortable.
Keep her and her family in your prayers...I'll keep you updated as I hear more.
Did anyone else on THE RICHNESS suffer with the storm?

what sweet friends she has....i could not imagine being prego and no a/c...esp in texas! glad they all are doing ok...thanks for updating us meames....as far as other texans go i think shanna and i are the only other ones if memory serves me right...i'm in san antonio and we were on the "hot/dry" side of the storm....not one drop of rain for us..just a little breeze and i think shanna is near austin, so she should be ok, too |

I don't think Shanna was affected. I got an email from her last night, and she didn't even mention the storm.
SwetCon's baby will definitely be special beause he is going to be born on MY birthday 
Thanks for the update Meames. I was wondering how she was doing with no a/c. So glad she has the generator.

SweetCon is still without power, but the power company is working in her neighborhood this afternoon, so she's asked us to pray for power for them. She wants ya'll to know that they are ok. She is hoping to go by her hubbys work for showers later today and hopes to be able to get online...I told her to stop by the HK thread and check out that kinda shirtless pic of Chris  ....she's VERY excited!! I've told her you all send her love and prayers, she's very grateful..she misses us all VERY much. She's a little stressed over bringing her baby back to the mess that they still have, but I told her he's not gonna care about his surroundings, he'll just be happy to be with the best momma in the world.

That poor thing. I can't imagine being soo pregnant and having to be in those condidtions. Do you know if they have a generator to help them out? And you are right Meames. The baby won't care as long as he's with his Momma.

Yes Steff, they have one that their friends flew in to them, but it's only giving them a fridge, lights and a fan, her AC is broken

You guys are so fantastic! I knew Richness prayers would pull us through. It's been a long hard 9 days but we are so grateful...so many in Houston still have no power and some don't have running water either. We are very fortunate that my husband has the job that he does...that's how we got our generator. Our friends were able to ship several more thru company aircraft for some of the other guys. I don't know what we would have done without the generator and tomorrow we will have a/c!! I don't ever care to hear the word Ike again...I can tell ya'll that! Thank you for your prayers and your friendship! -Michelle P.S. I"m going into the hospital Wednesday morning....little Brenden is on his way!!!

I'm so happy, SweetCon. I'm glad that you will be bringing that baby home to a air conditioned home. Haha!
I'm telling you, Richness prayers does wonders. When I got into my car accident and when I needed lifting up for this new job, the Richness came through and God answered our prayers! I'm so grateful to be in company of such an awesome support system. Maybe we need to start a Prayer sub-forum

I'm so glad you have power and a/c that is very very important for a 9 month prego....  can't wait to see your little bundle of joy. Storie is right, I too am very glad to be part of this wonderful group of friends. When my Max was killed you guys were right there for me and I will never forget that. It's 5:30pm EST and I'm off to church for the evening, if I hear anything while I'm gone I'll text someone so they can post. I text messaged SweetCon at 2:30pm and asked if we had a baby yet, and I haven't heard anything back.

Little Brenden was born at 11:28pm last night - 9/24 after a rough 17 hour labor  and not progressing Michelle had the c-section. He weighs exactly 8lbs and is 20 inches long. I have a picture on my phone (he's GORGEOUS!), that I am TRYING to get loaded onto my puter and will get up here ASAP.
