HI EVERYONE!!!!
So.... I must say, I always have special love for Chris Rich in my heart. But I can't lie, we all know how frustrating it can get waiting on all of this so my INTENSE love for him comes in waves. But I gotta tell ya, seeing him today brought it all back.
So anyways, I'll start from the beginning...We arrived around 11:30am. There weren't very many people there at all.  There were 3 people in line for the Chris Rich signing...a mother and her two 10-12 year old daughters. I immediately kinda felt sad and was hoping others would show up. We get word that Chris is running late (I got details from him about why later when I got to talk to him). So, in the mean time, people are coming in and out of the store, but most of them are just regular customers. While there, the local Top 40 station showed up and played some American Idol trivia. I got to play but lost by one point. Boooo! The question I got wrong was, "What was the first audition city on American Idol this year?" It was Phoenix and I guessed St. Louis. haha. Oh well.
So anyways, the whole event was supposed to start at noon and Chris probably finally showed up around 12:30. The second he walked out from that door, I kinda had a school girl feeling. haha. i hadn't seen him THAT close in what seems like FOREVER! I mean, i saw him on Feb 1 perform at that charity event, but this was just different. So intimate. So anyways, at this point, it was those original 3 people, 3 more people (another mom and 2 daughters) and then me and my brother at the end of the line. My brother was in charge of the camera and technically wasn't there to meet Chris. haha.
So, the minute he sees me, he gets a huge smile on his face and waves. :dies: I felt so special at that very second. haha. instantly, this wave of crazy chris Rich love came over me. hahaha. Then, while the others were getting there things signed, he even flashed me a couple more smiles. My brother is convinced he was flirting with me, but I don't believe him.
So finally, when it was my time up there, he immediately got up from his chair and came around the table to give me a hug. And man, those chris Rich hugs are still amazing. It was a tight squeeze with a brief moment of back and forth(ya know that kind of hug I'm talking about, haha). While we were hugging, he said, "Man, it's been a long time." And he's right! WAY! too long
So, we talk briefly about the Tampa area, blah blah. Some small talk. Which, by the way, I've been figured out! He now knows that I'm married (darnit!) haha. He saw my rings and points at them and goes, "Whaaaaaaaat?" I was like, "Yup. I'm married." And he said, "Wow. How long?" I told him that it woudl be two years in May and he said, "Well congratulations. Seems like you don't see that much these days." I guess he was referring to people actually staying married. hehe. So, a little more small talk and him flashing his gorgeous smile (and me melting in the mean time). Next comes the autograph signing...he signed something very special for me which he got a HUGE kick out of. I cannot reveal the details quite yet. Then, he signed something for me. They had these little preprinted things with Chris' pic on it. So he signed that for me. That pulled like 4 more out and signed those for me too. He was like, "Here, have a few more. They've got a TON of these things here." So sweet. He didn't have to do that. He just offered.  We chatted some more and he let me know that he's still recording and gave me the fall date like he told the NYC show peeps. I believe i heard him mention to someone else that he's heading back to Nashville next. Anyways, some more small talk then I asked him about the Amanda's Idols charity event. We briefly discussed it and he is still TOTALLY on board. He thinks its a great idea. He's worried a bit about the funding for it and so he wants to help us explore some other avenues for that. He said he wants to make sure to contact the right people. So I'm not exactly positive what that means, but he's definitely willing to help and wants to be involved!!
So, after that, it was picture time. I had asked my brother to snap a few pics while I was chatting with him, but he didn't do that. So the only pic for the day is my pic with him, which is below:
So, about then, I felt like I was hogging his time. He was SUPER thankful to me for coming and kept thanking me. He gave me not one, but TWO more FABULOUS Chris Rich hugs before I left. I kinda felt bad because as I was leaving I was like, "Well, I'll let you be." And he said, "Yeah, because that line is SO long." At that point, the one mother who had already talked to him had gotten back in line, and that was all that was there. I felt bad for him. After we left. I immediately felt like I should have stayed there. I kinda feel like that last comment to me was his indication that he wouldn't have minded me staying for some company. At the time though, I was thinking that I didn't wanna look too weird by just standing around the whole time. But of course, the second I left, i felt like I should have stayed. Poor Chris! I hope some others showed up and kept him company.
So yeah, that's all I can really think of right now. I bet there will be a couple of other things that I remember and if I do, I'll come by here and let ya'll know!
Oh yeah! My brother was the one that went in there with me and he was so nice to my brother. My brother just stood off to the side when it was my turn and he immediately extended his hand to my brother after outu hug. He introduced himself and my brother introduced himself as my brother. haha. So yeah. he's so polite. After everythign too, my brother was commenting on how cool Chris was. He thought he was EXTRA nice and felt bad that not many people showed up.
So yeah...ok, that was WAY longer than it needed to be. hehe. Hope you all enjoy it atleast!

Thanks for the recap - sounds like it was a really good time for you and Chris. Just SOOOOOOOO sad there weren't more people there for him. Anyways glad you got to see him and got some good hugs to last you for awhile. Thanks again for posting.

Aaawwww YAY for Tandt!!!!!!  Sooooo glad you got some GREAT time with him...what a bummer there were not many peeps there...that is so sad..I wonder why???  Could possibly have something to do with the crummy AT&T promo...I mean when you call corporate and they know nothing about it...well!!
Tiff your picture is absolutely the cutest thing...you look RADIANT!! and of course chris looks GOOD...his eyes have SUCH a sparkle...you definitely brought SOMETHING out in him There's no doubt he KNOWS his RICHNESS peeps and they hold a special place in his heart...that is so cool. You represented WELL Tandt And now he knows you're married... that's too funny, but makes me wonder...he was LOOKING to see...why? HHMMMMM????
I'm gonna have to talk with your brother about what to do with a camera when it's in your hands!!   Maybe he was star struck

I am THRILLED that he's still on board with Amanda's Idols...he did talk a little to us about that in NYC...hooray!!

Ohhhh DUH! I forgot to even mention that in my recap! Sorry. haha.
I asked him about it...and I guess his GPS system took him all the way to St. Pete. Which is like another 20 mins south of where the store was! Then, he called the store. They told him he needed to turn around. On his way, he gets caught in traffic due to a van that's on FIRE! So, bless his heart, he started driving on the shoulder to try and get there quicker. He said that people were getting angry with him, but he had a committment so he had to get there. Poor guy!

aawww bless his little cotton socks...I'm glad he didn't get a ticket...no ticket's just warnings  He seems to have the worst times trying to get places...whenever he's been performing with Josh (from what I've witnessed), Josh always has to "talk him in" any volunteers to be his NAVIGATOR???

Yea Tandt!!! I'm glad you were able to get some quality time with our boy today That's definitely too bad there weren't more people there to see Chris, but I'm sure if more people had known about it they would have come. Afterall, we all know he's Amazing! And that is such a nice picture of the two of you, you're a beautiful girl! Thanks for the details!

awww...wow tiffany...i got all giddy and excited just reading your post!!!!! so glad you had some great one on one quality time with him!!!! its been WAY too long since i have seen him...i get that school girl feeling just seeing his pics and reading everyone elses stories...so i can only imagine how you felt today!!!! |

And now I am TERRIFIED! I swear I will kill you if you did what I think you did! AGHHHH!!! And I have to throw in how terribly mean that would be since it wasn't Chris that signed the hairbrush pic. (still laughing, sorry).
