Yay!!!!!!
Well I gave you my list in chat yesterday. But let me jot it all down here:
- Library, museums, zoos, and science centers always has cool events where you bring the kids and they get free cool stuff in addition to all of the things get to do and learn at the event. The libraries in my area have readings for children, movie days, and other fun things.
- City recreation: If not in your city, check the websites in nearby cities. There is a city here in metro Detroit (Wayne) that has this cool indoor pool with a big giant slide for the kiddies. They LOVE it. In fact, my son wants to take his friends there with him this summer. You shouldn't have to pay more than a few bucks for an hour or two for city related recreational facilities.
- The park: Good place to watch her do her thing. Push her on the swing, and get to know her. She'll tend to open up about what's going on with her...good or bad.
Other things that cost money: Roller skating, cosmic bowling, Caesar Land (or Chuck E. Cheese). Also, our local symphony orchestra has TONS of events for kids. I took Q to one when he was around Aaliyah's age and they let the kids try out the instruments and everything before the show. It was pretty cool! And I got the tickets for free.
The library is endless in possibilities. You can show her how to check out a book. You can read to her. You can even bring crayons from the outside and color with her. Maybe you can buy a little coloring kit from the Dollar Store and just keep it for her. Kids tend to break and lose stuff, so that would be a neat thing if you kept the items for her until ya'll meet up again.
Haha...I know I typed a novel. I just think this is a REALLY cool thing for you to be doing. _________________ ~Hoarie & Panthoar with Secks & Gokes - August 1st and 2nd, 2009~

Do you have to take her some place each time? If not that age group loves to make crafts. There are lots of things you can get at Micheal's from making jewelry to painting pillow cases or little boxes. Generally they like to make things. I'm glad everything went well. Good for you!!! _________________
