Giraud, Lil Rounds shine as Idols take to the road
The top 10 American Idols launched their 50-city Idols Live tour Sunday night at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore., with a three-hour production showcasing the Season 9 singers' best sides and emphasizing contemporary material over oldies. Each finalist got a brief solo set, from 10th-place finisher Michael Sarver to winner Kris Allen.
Among the highlights: Matt Giraud's high-energy take on the Otis Redding/Black Crowes hit Hard to Handle; a dueling-piano segment with Giraud and Scott MacIntyre (a tantalizing possibility never explored during the TV show's run); and a group performance of Beggin', the Four Seasons-based Madcon hit, that masterfully blended old-school pop/soul and modern sounds.
The night's winners included Lil Rounds, who came across as far more comfortable away from the judges' critical glare, and Allison Iraheta, who combined youthful exuberance with convincing rock chops. Adam Lambert and Kris Allen dominated, though — the place went haywire for Lambert's extravagant vocals and lithe moves, and Allen's more intimate appeal.

Matt treated us (me and Pink) like QUEENS! He called me "baby" twice Haha! Lots of hugs and lots of love from him.

I had a total blast at the Charlotte, NC show! I really thought the top 10 really was amazing. The entire show was great! I did stand out before concert and got to take picstures of the people that came out, but did not get pics with them because we did not get there soon enough to get in the front by the fence. I will of course give my full review later as well as put up the link to my pictures and videos. I did not take any videos this time of full songs, I would not have had enough memory. Instead, I took at least a 1 minute video of each contestant singing so people could get an idea of what each person sounded like.
I also met Pink and Storie while standing outside for signatures! Love you girls! You 2 are so nice, just as expected and I was so glad that I finally got to meet you both!
So I will give more later once I have time to get everything uploaded.
One comment, all the guys seemed way cuter in person!!
Also, I saw 6 of the 10 idols outside when they were doing autographs. I did not see Anoop as he was the first to come out, and I missed him. But 3 of the 10 did not come out at all for autographs. They were Adam, Lil, and Allison. People were chanting for Adam and Allison, but sadly at 3:30 they told us no more were coming out, and we were told "We were told Adam doesnt come out". So take that for what it is. I will say there were some very disappointed Adam fans as well as Allison and Lil fans. But the rest, what sweeties! Signed all the way down the row and took pictures, they were all so sweet!
