After a long and valiant struggle with brain cancer, “American Idol” winner David Cook’s brother Adam died at 1 a.m. this morning at a hospice in Terre Haute, IN.
A family friend told RadarOnline.com exclusively, “Adam passed away peacefully.
“He was surrounded by his family, including his wife Kendra, his children, his father and his step-mom, among others.”
David was rushing back on a jet when his beloved brother died.
“The family thought that Adam would go much sooner than this, actually,” said the Cook family friend.
“That’s why David left his tour a few weeks back so that he could be with Adam.
“They said their goodbyes then.”
But Adam, 36, rallied briefly after that…and David returned to his concert tour.
“He took a turn for the worse this weekend and David rushed to get home.”
But sadly he couldn’t make it in time.
Last year, friends of the stricken lawyer arranged a $45,000 trip on a chartered medical jet to Los Angeles so Adam could see David perform on Idol.

Please keep David Cook and his family in your prayers. R.I.P. Adam. _________________

My prayers have always been with Adam and his family... I can well imagine how difficult this is and I am so glad that David had the time earlier to be with his brother..When he performs Permanent you can tell the pain and the love he and his brother share.... My sincere sympathy to the entire Cook Family

I just talked to Melissa(GreenEyes) who walked in the DC Walk for Brain Cancer in Washington, DC. The walk was today and David was there. Not only did he walk he gave a short speech. Melissa said it was very tough for him, but he did say there was no other place hewould rather be. We were also at the concert in Williamsburg when he announced that he would be cancelling some shows. We felt then that it was his brother. That is supposedly when hospice started. He lived 10 years with this dreadful disease. My heart goes out to David and his entire family.
BTW there were 9000 poeple ther today for the walk. Melissa was able to raise $350. Keep them all in your prayers. _________________

That is so very sad. Isn't it something that David Cook's brother died after supporting him through AI and so did Eliott Yamin's mother. It's great that both of them got to see their loved ones do so well in the contest. My heartfelt prayers go out to David's family. _________________ One more Mom that Loves Chris |
