Okay Richness. So I was asked this question at work and gave my answer. However, I wanted to get your take on it.

So I get this email that a lady who works for a vendor of ours, who visited our office last week talking about her pregnancy, miscarried. Very tragic news. Needless to say, she will be taking the week off and spending time at home with her husband to recover.

So one of our managers (who's a male) asked a few of us if we should send flowers. I'm thinking he got more "no's" than "yes's." I also brought up another POV in which the manager stated that his wife said the very same thing. What if this were a 7 y/o child? We would have sent flowers, no problem, right? However, that still did not convince me that sending flowers in this case is the thing to do.

Very tragic situation, but I wanted to get your thoughts on the proper etiquette when a couple miscarries. Thanks Richness!

aaww Storie, how sad.  I would say "yes"...the couple are hurting, and grieving over the loss of their baby...I would say yes, or at the very least a card from all the office saying they "are in your thoughts."
