Way to go Ven!!  I admire anyone who can cut that habit! It's very hard!
I've cut back on my smoking ALOT... comes along with being broke  I went a week without a cigg and was doing really well until presented with one, then I had to smoke!

Every morning since I quit the first thing that comes to mind as I start to wake up is "I want a cigarette". The second thing that I think is "I don't do that anymore", then I get up and get on with my day. I think I will always miss them, always enjoy the smell of cigarettes, yes I do like the smell of a burning cigarette even almost 90 days after quitting. The best thing about quitting has been the fact that because I DID quit, so did Big Mike, Lil Sara, and my baby Rob. I know cigarettes would never kill me but I wasn't so sure about them.
My only advise to those that want to quit is pick a day at least two weeks away as your quit date. Then just tell yourself many times a day "I quit smoking December 15, 2009 and I am glad I did.", or statements like that as long as they are said in the present tense(like you already quit) and use no "negative" words like don't. Also tell yourself you quit on such and such a date, NOT you tried to quit. If you say try..... you will fail.
Tell your mom mandy, it's never too late to quit. I smoked two packs a day for more than 46 years, so anything is possible, if you want it. Good luck!

Congrats Ven! I'm happy for ya!!! My dad quit after he almost died of a massive heart attack. Big eye opener for him. My mom, on the other hand, still smokes. Wish she would quit!!! But regardless, good for you!!
