Just sitting here in Barsow,Ca thinking when did being a truck driver become a bad thing? I have to be missing something!!
Truck drivers are doing a service bringing people the things they need or want and thats bad?
I've only been out in the trucking world for a short time about 8 1/2 years.
A few things I've learned,
A semi truck payes a road tax to that state for every mile driven in that state - with that in mind if your area has high truck traffic and each truck is paying a road use tax for using that road, if you have bad roads because of high truck traffic what is your city spending the road tax money on - it is not the road???
How can someone pass rules and regs on truck drivers and never been in a truck? its ok for a doctor to work a double shift and work with people, or a police officer to work a double shift or anyone else and at the end of that shift drive home.....Now if it was just that person on the road then it wouldn't matter but it only takes a micro second to fall asleep and you are cutting off a car or a truck causing a chain reaction accident.
do they talk about that on t.v? Nope!! buzz driving and D.U.I (different in each state but means the samething) or using a cell phone, or my favorite playing games with a big truck on the road how can anything good come from racing, slamming brakes on in front of a truck that weights 40,000 pounds plus!!! Does M.A.D.D or S.A.D.D or any of the groups address these problems - If they do please let me know where.
it is a known fact split speed limit causes accidents, then why would a state put it's people at risk (example) CA on a two lane road puts a split speed limit 55 MPH for big trucks and 65 MPH for cars forcing the cars to pass big trucks in a dangerous way!!! The easy fix 60 MPH for all traffic on two lane roads - I know it is about the money! money! money!
if it was about safety then wouldn't they educate people instead of writing a ticket. Hell IL. knows that split speed limit is dangerous 3 times the state has tried to get rid of the split speed limit and 3 times the govener has veto it.
once again its about the money which outranks safety for it's people
I may not agree with what people have to say but will fight for people to have the right to say it.
until then we can agree to disagree.
