Jeff Garcia, who is the Bucs' emergency quarterback Sunday, has a hairline fracture in his back, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Coach Jon Gruden denied that an MRI revealed any structural damage in Garcia's back during the week, but he's been having difficulty rotating his torso to make a throwing motion. Brad Johnson suffered the same injury in 2002 and it took him three weeks to return to action. The St. Petersburg Times believes Garcia is also unlikely to play in Week 14. Garcia won't start today and will be the inactive third quarterback. Frankly, it's very unlikely he will play next week at Houston.
The Bucs will go with Luke McCown, who took nearly all the first-team reps last week.
It's not unusual for the Bucs to vague about injuries. But we'll see if they will give us more information after the game. _________________

| Well, let's hope Luke can get it done. I think he can, just keep it simple. |

This will tell us what type of team we have. We already saw what Gradkowski could do, or more like couldn't do.
Now it's time to see if McCown can lead this team..
They say it's a team sport, that the loss of one player should not be that great. Whoever said that never watched this team. |

In his press conference, Gruden said "There's a lot of reports out there. I don't have any knowledge of structural damage at all. I just wish some of these reports were verified and who these people are. Who reported it?" When told Cris Mortensen of ESPN, he replied "Chris Mortensen, he doesn't have a goddamn idea what he's talking about. And I don't understand why he would say that, unless he got the x-rays himself." _________________ Fan since '76.....not OLD. |
