TAMPA – The Bucs new running backs coach will come from within the organization after all.
In the wake of recently retired fullback Mike Alstott's decision to pass on the job, the Bucs have pegged special teams coordinator Richard Bisaccia as their new running backs coach, a source with knowledge of the move told The Tribune.
Bisaccia could not be reached for comment Wednesday but the source said Bisaccia has been selected to succeed Art Valero at that spot and that an announcement should be forthcoming within days.
Valero left the Bucs shortly after the season ended to join the St. Louis Rams. The Bucs first sought to fill the vacancy his departure left by offering the job to Alstott.
Bisaccia has been the Bucs special teams coach for the past six seasons but he has experience working with running backs as well, having coached them for 10 years as a college assistant at South Carolina, Clemson and Ole Miss.
In other Bucs news, former senior assistant Aaron Kromer has joined the Saints as their new running backs coach. Kromer worked with Bucs offensive linemen the last three years.
Also, former Bucs quarterbacks coach Paul Hackett continues to look for work, but word is he may sit out the 2008 season if a job offer to his liking doesn't materialize. |

Might want to spend time with family before starting that up. _________________
