Buccaneers acquire Griese from Bears for draft pick

The Chicago Bears, who re-signed Rex Grossman and gave Kyle Orton a contract extension, traded backup Brian Griese to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for an undisclosed draft choice.
Griese left the Buccaneers two seasons ago when he signed a five-year contract with Chicago. The 32-year-old Griese started six games in two seasons with the Bears, compared to 16 starts in two seasons with the Bucs.
The Denver Broncos selected Griese in the third round of the 1998 NFL draft. He was with Denver for five seasons and also played one season for the Dolphins. _________________

So!!! What is everyone's problem here???
Griese is a better Veteran BACKUP for Garcia than anyone they have on the roster now... He has 2 things going for him - he knows the system and Gruden likes him... What did it cost the Bucs? A 2nd day Draft Pick in '09...
Luke was a band-aid when Garcia hurt his back...
Gradkowski was a total waste of a draft pick from the beginning...
IF Simms was ever gonna be a bigtime NFL QB, I feel it's too late now... He wasn't all that great "before" the spleen injury - "after" it doesn't look like he'll ever be the same... Being left-handed doesn't help him in Gruden's system either - remember all of those batted balls...
So, like I asked in the beginning - why do ya'll have your knickers in a knot? |

You've got some good points there...
Just hope we don't have to watch him for more than a play or two. _________________
