Charlie Belcher is an announcer on Tampa Channel 13..not an anchor but he does the away-from-the-station stories and is the station's clown...always good for a smile. He does the American Idol news and they sent him out there a couple of weeks ago.
They found out on Christmas Eve that his 7 year old daughter has leukemia and her favorite on Idol is David Cook so when he got a chance to interview David, he told him about his daughter. David immediately pulled out his cell phone and called her. Charlie said his daughter squealed with delight. Then he asked Charlie what the orange band was around his wrist and Charlie told him it was a leukemia band with his daughter's name on it. David asked him if he could wear it and he would wear it when he performed. Sure enuf, they had a freeze frame showing him wearing the band. It made his daughter soooo happy.
He has my vote!!!

Last night, after David Cook performed, he held up his fist as they were announcing his phone number and he had the orange leukemia band around his fist!!

David had short sleeves on tonite so you could see the orange band...bless him for wearing it!! He did great and I voted for him.
I thought Michael Johns had the best performance tonite but thay may be because I absolutely loved Queen!!

David Cook was on Regis and Kelly yesterday AM....was still wearing the orange band for Charlie's daughter!!
So glad he won!!!!
