I for 1 am glad i do not have this ete title hanging over my head anymore, it always made me feel as though i was being compared to generic brand of something lol  just a notch down from all others.

I did not apply to be an ete,  was not hired as ete,  but the 119 day thing turned me into 1.

It is very nice to know the next job i go to i will be just a co-worker and not have a name hanging over my head to separate me from the rest of the workers.

Believe it or not it was just a touch degrading.

             Good luck all

I was an ETE and am glad I was. Listening to all of you who complain and complain more, but not once have I heard any of you complain about the money you were taking home week after week. And alot of it!!
You could of left the job at any point and left it behind you.
I for one will miss the people, jobs and, yes, the money!! If and a BIG if, I were to be called back--I would jump at it and I know most of you ETE'S will also!
Thanks Brian for a great website and I will be following it daily!!

Ok it may sounded as i was complaining,  i wasn't trying to complain.
You may have been surrounded by some better people than i was..........most of the people around me were great, with the few that every chance they could get would say to me.......QUOTE.... oh what do you know, your just a 2 yr.

Had a transfer that was just plain angry we were there period,  thought we were taking other prospective transfers jobs.

I for 1 would also consider going back because like i said there were great people  but the few that constantly put there jabs in did make me feel a touch belittled.

I guess paint shop was a diffrent world than Body or trim. We had a few "Anti ETEers" but we knew who they where, and did our best to stay away from them.

My 2 years in paint, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the best people I have had a chance to work with, and I have worked in several other big name places (US Navy, FedEx, Nissan Forklift) Its not all been peachs and cream. Anytime you work with people there will be bumps in the road. Heck, one of the guys I call my best friend up in paint, we went through a 3 week period where we did not talk to each other. <shrugs> Its the way it goes.

It has been a fustrating time, There is only so much false hopes, promises broken and outright lies you can take before your additude and outlook on the job changes. I have enjoyed the friendships, the experance and yes, the money I have recieved from the company. Part of me is glad, for now, that I am gone. I had a really rough time leaving the plant Friday night. I kept finding one more person to go talk to, one more place to go see. I think I was one of the last ETE's out of paint.

I have learned that each persons views, feelings and experance there are to far vast and diffrent to lump them all together. I just know how I feel, and what i went though, and how I dealt with it. When I finnaly was able to sleep Friday night, I had one of the best nights of sleep in a long long time, and I think that speaks volumes.

I would like to see all of the ETE's back but without the ETE title. I hope nobody ever has to endure that again. Good luck to you all.

I would not have missed this chance for nothing in the world. Yes there were good things and bad things about this experience. If they call me back, I will be there with a big smile on my face knowing that I did a good enough job this last time that i have a chance to do it again. So   hope to see you in the near future. I'll be around.

What a surprise I received when I found out that some of the part timers that were hired after the ETEs and transferees were sent here are now working at Chrysler full time, w/benefits.

I didn't mind working there but I can't (but do after all this) believe everything that they have to the people they hired on and the workers that were transferred from different plants that lost their jobs also.
